When I was raising kids, I had an incident with a nosy neighbor that I did not get along with.

So we were a very loud family. Typical for Chicago but at the time I was living out on the west coast.

So one summers day we were swearing and yelling at the kids for being shitty kids. Usual stuff teenagers do.

Fucking asshole neighbor called the cops on us. Cops came out and were like we heard there was yelling here, is everything ok? I'm like ya, we're a loud family, everyone is ok. Cops asked to see the kids and when he saw they were ok they left.

But say my son got a bruise on his face from hockey or football which he was into then. Would the cops have seen that and take him away claiming abuse? It's so fucked up when I think about it now.

Probably worse these days.

oh btw...that shithead neigbhor, from what I've heard from some of the old neighbors some years ago, her kids turned out to be a bunch of fucking no working bums. Maybe if she used some yelling and common sense discipline they wouldn't be no good bums.

Maybe the neighbors saw you shitting in their tree?

I think there should be two separate units in a DCFS type setup. One that is strictly charged with immediate help, fast investigation, removal and enforcement. That can also be the cops I think. Secondly, the other half should be a higher level of professional that has the actual tools to either help a situation for reunification or same tools and power to move things for kids into the future.

Just have QCPs running around seems to not be the best thing.

we had a friend whose sister was leaving her children with a guy so she could go party. when helping her go potty, the little girl said nobody could touch hre there except "insert guys name" or some crap. this kid is 3ish i think.

she talked to her sister and her sister told her she was crazy....so she went to her mom who is obsessed with no strife in the family and she was no help at all. reached out to us for advice and i told her to call dcfs. basically dcfs wouldn't do anything unless there was evidence. I thought that was odd but i get it.

Yeah I am glad me nor my family even had such a story that I know of. For so many you hear like that you also hear about DCFS or whatever believing made up stuff or simply young kid's misinterpretations or worse coaching and ruining lives all around.

we have an investigator we know (not pat) who said you can easily tell within a minute when you visit a home whether or not there is legitimacy in the accusation or not. He said its hard to put away your biases if these positions even though you are supposed to.

I only suspect this and maybe it also happens to cops. People going into shitty situations day after day after day that are reprehensible. There has to be some mechanism psychologically to becoming affected by that in real life.
