No he wasn’t. His characterization of Georgia’s anti abortion bills is accurate. And I’m against abortion being legal. I’m not in favor of sending a woman to jail for decades for getting one. It’s fair to call that bill barbaric.

I watched the entire clip and then read Ben being a critic of himself. He has never shied away from saying some of his tweets and/or statements from the past were either wrong or showed poor judgement. He's been writing prodigiously since he was like 16. There's a lot to hammer him on. Interviewer went down that road. Seemed pretty shill-like to me. I'm not mad that he was perceived as taking a beating, I'm mad that he folded up like a deck chair.

Going down the twitter road may have been unnecessary but that’s irrelevant. The tone of the interview was set when Shapiro couldn’t answer for Neal’s accurate characterization of a lot of the policy and rhetoric coming from America’s right wing.

Wasn't my impression. Interviewer set out to maul him to prove Shapiro has been picking low fruit for years. Since he folded, I guess he was right.

I think it’s clear Neal wanted an answer on how Shapiro could lament our devolving civil discourse while actively contributing to it and Shapiro couldn’t answer for it. I don’t think there’s any other relevant takeaway from it.

My problem with Shapiro is just that he's a dick. Like he always has to get real fuckin' smug with that "facts don't care about your feelings" stuff. You just don't have to rub everyone's face in it. That's called bad manners where I come from.

Like when he called that Tur transgender crazy to her face. No need for that. I happen to agree with Shapiro but what is the good in pointing it out?
