Did I tell you that millennial associate quit for another position? At her exit, she still remembered that I didn't take kindly to her taking multiple days off because of a sick cat.

But she saved me money on my property taxes though!!

She was a very competent attorney.

Where did she go?

And do you have a replacement yet?

yes

That is pretty much my belief as well. I've definitely arrived in the area earlier due to traffic or just wanting to give myself enough time or whatever. But then I'll sit in the car and listen to sportsradio/music, and walk in 10-15 minutes early fully expecting to wait those minutes before the interview starts.

I have done the same. Wait in the car until 15minutes before and walk in.

Being an hour early is almost as bad as being 5minutes late.

Especially in the politics section.

My HR called me and said this clown called them and asked why I couldn't change my schedule around to accommodate him. My HR director told me that she very bluntly explained to him that I am running a business and we already re-scheduled things on our end to make his 11am interview work in the first place.

Douche.

On the plus side, our 1pm interview walked into the building at 1:01 and nailed it.

we had an office in florida for a time and they decided they wanted to open a business development dept (cold callers) down there and had me come down and interview the candidates. i gave them a week. all the interviews were set up for the week i was down there. i explicitly had them add to the listing that they should find the office first because it was very difficult to do (business park that didn't have 1 straight road...we were in the back and this was pre everyone had a smart phone). that essentially it was their first obstacle to getting hired on there. i would say that maybe 20% of the people showed up on time. The rest showed up late or not at all. It was a disaster. the board room of this office complex overlooked much of the park and i could see people who had no idea driving all over the place obviously looking for the place.

 Did I give an answer one way or another?

How about this. I will answer your YES OR NO when you answer the YES OR NO I posed to you in the politics section weeks ago.

Ball is in your court. Until then, have a blessed day :D

I figured $50 might be too much to risk.

Whoever they are, I hope it works out for you Frank.

Hiring cold callers is something I know a lot about. The first thing I learned was I couldn't try to hire myself. Everyone has a natural tendency to try to hire him or herself. A good cold caller is a special thing. It takes a certain kind of person to constantly be told "no" and maintain confidence. It's a super high turnover job. If you get someone who sticks it's well worth doing what is necessary to keep them.

Some people do it 8 hours a day.

That's some rough shit right there.

It's just a bad business model IMO. I guess you can find 1 goof in 1000 that will buy whatever your selling. FoxNews must make a mint off their subscriber list.

I don't even understand how that job still exists. Do you ever get anything from talking to someone on the phone anymore? I mean, you might get my Mom, but she can barely hear anyway.

I think this is why JORR has moved into loan sharking as a primary source of income.

Not really. If they are an existing customer and you are calling them to get more business, that can work. Cold calls, hell even warm calls, rarely hit.

Un-fucking-believable.

It was fortunate this happened and you knew to avoid hiring the guy. If he had shown up on time, made a good impression, and gotten hired you'd have to deal with his bullshit and then the process of terminating him.

About how old is he? I am wondering if his parents are going to call next.

The Score will often run a commercial that gives just a phone number and no website. You know those calls are going right to a hard sell.
