OK, GoT joined Lost on the list of shows that completely biffed the landing.

Instead of remember shows that collapsed towards the end, what are some shows that absolutely nailed it?

I'll start with a few:

Breaking Bad
Mad Men
Sopranos
Star Trek: The Next Generation (great ending if you pretend the TNG movies never happened)

Six Feet Under for me. The last ten minutes of that show are a masterpiece on how to close out a great series.

I know it’s a minority opinion but The Wire for me was great. Breaking Bad was good.

But it’s either The Shield or Sooranos for me. Both were excellent.

The Shield is a good call. Vic technically wins but he ends up in his hell.

Yup, had quite a few striking scenes - especially the one where after Vic gets immunity, he starts spilling the beans, almost with glee, to the near horror of the others in the room. Was a very fitting end to a great series.

yes the wire and sopranos were very good too.

It was emotionally manipulative. The thing is though, every character on the show was so vile I wish they all could have died horrific deaths. My lasting memory of Six Feet Under will be Ben Foster signing "Froggy Went A-Courtin'".

"the wonder years" had a great series finale, even though it was a canceled show. they had to rush to put together an epilogue, but it's one of the best that i've seen.

"cheers" also had a good ending, albeit a bloated episode.

"rectify" had a satisfying ending.

agreed about "mash" and "six feet under".

I understand the Sopranos ending.....I still think it was stupid AF. Then again, the final 2 seasons themselves were pretty awful.

Each one is special in its own way but 4th is shocking for a comedy series. It is nothing but a downhill ride to an inevitable end.

I mostly liked the finale to The Sopranos, but wasn't a fan of Don't Stop Believing. On the other hand, Baby Blue for Breaking Bad was perfect.

Six Feet Under was the best. Breaking Bad was satisfying, if a bit of a cop out. Dexter was embarrassingly bad, IMO.
