After Pam Grier, I agree.

And it was Jennifer Hudson screeching and wrecking the theme song.

“All in the Family” came off as a high school project to recreate the show and fell flat.

“The Jeffersons” was awesome.

They were based on actual episodes.

This. But I enjoyed the hell out of them both. Both shows meant a lot to me as a kid and they brought back great memories.

Quietly, I always wanted to meet Carroll O'Cconnor.

I thought you did.

never liked archie. maybe i wasn't suppose to. but never liked oconnor.

DID YOU KNOW...who Lear really wanted for the role ???

I think it would have been a perfect fit but Gleason turned it down. Oconnor also didnt think the show would do much.

i always wondered why in the all in the family song they nostalgized about Herbert Hoover. why? we're told he was a bad president who started the depression. What's the history behind this? anyone know?

I got to see parts of it around the bad weather coverage.

Edith and George were by far the best.

something about her has always turned me off. going all the way back to her being on "american idol". her demeanor always says "give me an award for this performance!".

Thought it was interesting and liked the live aspect of it all. Foxx and Tomei were the best in their respective roles. They don’t need to do it again but it was a harmless and interesting experience

It absolutely destroyed the whole point of recreating the shows (except for ratings).

It was like watching Goodfellas on censored tv.

Honky wasn't censored, although it is essentially the same word in its nature. I know, white people will be fine.

Why produce the show if you are not going to be edgy, especially in relation to race and society?

I know this isn't going to be a popular opinion but I'm saying it anyway: Will Ferrell sucks

Jennifer Hudson is so overrated.

Woody Harrelson seemed like he was doing a bad SNL skit. Otherwise I enjoyed both.

Everything about her turns me off. She's a walking caricature of a soulful singer.

I finally saw it.

The Jeffersons episode was better done than All in the Family. I always liked All in the Family more, but Woody Harrelson was miscast. Marisa Tomei nailed it though as Edith.

I can't help but read those in Jean Stapleton and Carrol O'Connor voices

Marisa Tomei has Jean Stapleton down pat.

^she did
