Wait a second . . . there's hope for the Illini this year?

no

There is. Ncaa.com has them ranked 21st.

Yeah, they might be decent in hoops. Football: Praying and offering sacrifices so that the Illini make the First Responder Bowl.

Carrasco is allowing 2 HR per game. That’s why his ERA is 5.00 and his xFIP is 3.33. This can’t possibly continue, right? The Indians have fallen on severely hard times. No Kluber or Clevinger. Bauer is walk-happy once again. Carrasco is doing his best Reynaldo Lopez impersonation. Jose Ramirez has been struggling to stay above the Mendoza line. The list goes on.

Strike first, strike hard, no mercy, sir!

I don't want to rain on anyone's enthusiasm parade but they have played about as easy of a schedule as one could hope for in a two month stretch. June is against above .500 teams except for the Nats.

We are better but #wearenotgood...yet

keuchel would shore up this shit-show of a rotation. The evey day lineup isn't that bad.

That's what I'm talking about...this team might be good if their pitching didn't suck.

I think that the White Sox should be looking to the future right now and make a trade proposal to the Dodgers. The Dodgers are a team that needs relief help. They have everything else in spades. The Sox have a guy in Colome who is on his way to an all-star honor.

What I would propose that the Sox offer Colome and Herrera to the Dodgers for Verdugo an outfield prospect and Lux who is a short-stop who is likely to end up as a 2nd baseman in the bigs. Colome has a great contract for the Dodgers to get and by dumping Herrera on them, they can free up some money for a potential free agent for next season. Both of these young guys are very good prospects who are playing at 3A and really will not have spots with the parent club.

Both the young kids can hit and hit for some power while Colome would give the Dodgers the closer that they need as well as a hope for return to decency for Herrera as a set-up guy. I think that something like this makes sense for both teams.

The every day lineup is good. Except for that worthless fuck Alonso.

I don't think the market for a reliever will heat up until after Kimbrel signs.

The Dodgers aren't giving up that kind of haul for Colome

Hawk(Panther) is on to something. A perfect closer will be highly coveted.

The Dodgers would probably tell you to call Theo, because his team desperately needs bullpen help more than anything.

No they wouldn't. Every Dodger fan that I know and I know quite a few bitch about how the Dodgers lost two championships because of a shitty bull pen. Colome is having an all-star season and as such has a lot of value. They could also use a lefty in their pen which Herrera would provide. Its not like the Dodgers have any untouchable players in their minor league system. Some good players but no one who will be any better than the guys that they now have. The two guys I mentioned are good not great prospects but would fill some spots that they lack in their minor league system.

No doubt the Dodgers would be interested in Colome. But as soon as Verdugo was brought up they would hang up. They are not giving him up for a reliever. It just is not happening.

Yaaaaaaahhhhhh

My all-time favorite sports team. They got off to a hot start, though. But yeah.

Just think: By Sunday, this town could possibly have two second-place teams!
