If you refer to the person who owns the team as your "owner" then you're simply uneducated. This is a sad week for the NBA.

"I work for a franchise owned by Jerry Reinsdorf."

"Jerry Reinsdorf owns the franchise I work for."

Draymond has a problem with the English language then, and maybe all language since most if not all languages have a set of nouns and verbs that describe "owning." It's absurd. Again I think it goes back to guys not knowing how to use language effectively. I'm sure Green owns a property or two - he may even employ staff who work on the property. Does he "own" the staff who work on his property?

Guys just need to refer to NBA owners as people who own franchises and not the employees of those franchises. Draymond needs to be opposed here - if not, if he wins, it will further undermine how we practice and think of language.

I get the "your" part of it. WHat if it is "the owner"? I think Draymond has a problem with it being used regardless of context.

There is nothing wrong with using the word owner. If it is used in the context of "your owner" "my owner" then sure feel free to have a problem. Not the word itself however.

Whenever I hear the word owner used in a sentence it is invariably that the person is "owner of the team". I've never heard owner of the players. That is a misnomer
