Lopez is just trash. He's been shelled in the majority of his starts this year. A 6 era is not acceptable in the big leagues. Send him down or put him on injured reserve. Can't go out and get killed every start.

a young pitcher's development is not linear. You don't overemphasize the good or the bad until the player has proven what he is. Lopez had a lot of good last year with some bad. He has had a lot of bad this year with some good. I wouldn't be ready to draw any conclusions on his career yet based on his work.

The same is true for Giolito, despite him pitching at a Cy Young level currently. If you told me he would fall off a cliff next year, I wouldn't be shocked.

His problem is what it always is. He can't get ahead and when he does, he's wild within the strike zone. Last year the excuse was focus. With Lopez, it isn't rocket surgery. He doesn't execute his pitches. McCann made a rare appearance as battery mate. Maybe keep doing that.

FavreFan is right, the Final Solution is the answer to the White Sox woes. Collect 'em, ship 'em out, gas 'em.

After that, Lopez will finally achieve his destiny just as Good Dolphin has foretold.

Sox will be interesting in the years to come. Now, its a hard watch with some of the slug fill-in starting pitchers. They have to get a couple of all star caliber free agents down the road like the Cubs did with Lester. Hopefully they don't trade young top talent for rent a players once they get contending, or piss away free agent money on bums long term big money.

If they brought up Cease n sign Keuchel they could make a run at the WC this year.
