I don’t know if I hate anyone but Reinsdorf is honestly the closest. I would smile if I found out he died and celebrate that night. I don’t feel the same way about anyone else I know personally or people like Uncle Jerry I don’t even know. I hope Jerry dies sooner than later. I don’t feel the same way about Trump or anyone else I “dislike”. As a sports owner you have one single commitment and if you don’t fulfill that commitment, having a singular relationship with you, I don’t feel bad about wishing death on you if you don’t sell the team. Since I’m not the one arranging the death or even trying to I don’t feel bad at all for it. As a sports fan nothing could make me happier right now. I doubt the Hawks fans with similar feelings towards Dollar Bill regret their feelings these days.

Everyone, including Reinsdorf advised Pippen against that contract. It was a great deal for the first two years, but crap thereafter. But iirc, the demands of Pippen's family and his own insecurities had him desperate for the bad contract. In any event, any shortfall Pippen suffered then, Reinsdorf helped him make up for on the sign and trade that did absolutely nothing for the Bulls.

When I first moved to Chicago in the early 00's and would go to bars I'd constantly see people order Oberon/other Bell's or even a Goose Island specialty brew and the bartender would simply rip the cap off the bottle and slide it the across the bar to the bar patron who way too often would not request a glass but would begin quaffing away directly from the bottle of Bell's like it was a Bud Light. After trying to explain to a few bartenders and myriad Bell's ordering patrons that it'd taste a lot better if they decanted the Bell's into a glass before serving/drinking, I eventually gave up and seethed in silent rage at the phenomenon. How can they be drinking a Bell's Porter directly from the damn bottle?! Do they even know what good beer tastes like?!? Eventually the micro-brew thing took off and now I no longer have this issue. Amor Fati, I think that's the right one.

He is everything u want in a guy. Mysterious, folksy, funny, New York accent, and sticks to his guns, doesnt put himself in front of media.

He is a great owner. Old-school and simple. Like Konerko, operates with a handshake and loyalty, not a contract.

I knew about the Pippen stuff, I read about it in detail in Sam Smith's The Jordan Rules book. Smith's spin in that book is that it was on Pippen for taking that bad deal. I think even Pippen's agent advised against it but Pippen wanted the security above anything else. Then later on Krause and Reinsdorf refused to renegotiate.

I've always maintained that Reinsdorf will pay when there's a clear on the field/court return. I want to say he increased the White Sox payroll after the 2005 championship and I've already mentioned him paying up during the Bulls' run in the 1990s. He made MJ the highest paid player ever at the time during two consecutive years. He paid luxury tax on the Bulls' roster during the Rose years for at least one year. He also was willing to pay up to acquire either James or Wade or both during 2010. That being said he does have his GMs carry out very strange cost-cutting moves that hurt the roster so I wouldn't say he's always down to pay up. But I wouldn't say he's the cheapest owner ever either. Perhaps somewhere in the middle or low middle.
