It must be nice when ownership and management recognizes a problem with the team and then goes out and addresses it.

Yup. Must be nice to be a fan of a team without a cheap asshole motherfucker for an owner.

Saw the game. Eloy brutal fielding. Just dh him.

The way they came back was fun to watch. You guys should stay positive. They’re fighting this year.

you will be back after a weekend in KC

This team is not ready for prime time. The starters are atrocious. The hitting is inconsistent. However, you are starting to see the particles sufficiently coalesce to think there is a potential for star development.

Kimbrel signing should result in the Sox lighting their "open for business" sign on trading Colome.

Agreed. This is not a 90 win team. I do think it can and should be about a 78-80 win team. However that is not likely to happen with 3 minor leaguers taking the bump every fifth day.

The building blocks are definitely there. This can be a fun team to watch. They seem to really have grown together and are starting build a nice bond. They are a very likable team that is easy to root for. First time since probably 2010 I can say that about the Sox.

I'm hesitant to part with Abreu. He'll be undervalued in a trade, he'll be undervalued for a new contract. Why not keep him if the price is right? It's just a guess, but I think he's got 2 more solid years left in him.

Yeah, I am not sure what they could get for him would be worth losing him. Why bother? No one's coming up in under two year's time to take his place.

With another proven big-league starter, this team could have been .500 or better this year. They're gonna have to spend some money or get REALLY lucky that Cease and Kopech work out in the majors.

I agree.

I would trade him and then hope to sign him back up in the off season.

It seems to me that we are seeing the signs of him slowing down as he sells out his avg/obp for power similar to what big hurt did in the later part of his career.

As long as his slugging is .500, who cares? That's well worth keeping.

Keep in mind Abreu is doing this with a guy hitting .170 behind him in the lineup.

If that big stiff hitting behind was doing his job, he'd get better pitches to hit. A decent number four hitting power guy is a great thing for a three hitter.

YEah, and on a team so heavily loaded with Hispanics, he is their unquestioned leader and mentor to all of the young guys and that is very valuable also.

Same old Sox.

Get close to .500, go on losing streak.

It is still a bad rotation. Giolito has been exceptional, but Lopez has regressed. Covey shows occasional upside, but 3/5 of the rotation is very bad.
It's difficult to win consistently with this rotation.
