Having said that, I have all the respect in the world for the hotness of the daughters, but Petticoat Junction was the definition of insipid. That's why you groaned when it came on at 12:30 on those days when you were home sick from school.

Maybe I'm remembering Kotter wrong because of age (really only watched it on WGN replays). I remember it as edgy.

I find those shows with the failed lothario character who is friends with the other characters for no reason that makes sense really annoying. Think the character Doogie Hauser plays on "How I met your mother," or any David spade role.
