I Googled it, and the article that explained him was from Vox (The Verge). There could have been some Reddit results, but I did not click on or read any.

I guess if there was a very specific source of information you thought would be better than alternatives, you could have linked it. Seems straight-forward and a bit obvious, yes?

I took a shot in the dark with a vague description of the person's name and last night I posted on a subreddit asking if anyone might know what I was talking about. After a couple people swung on and missed, one person suggested a writer, which led me down a rabbit hole, and after 20 minutes of missing this knowledge, I found him today on Vox. People on the internet can be cool sometimes.
