At what point can you cry mercy and admit Lonzo blows? What's it gonna take? His bitch ass can't even complete a season and his jumper is vomit inducing.

I’ll admit I’m wrong when his career is done. I never had him as a star. If he can’t stay healthy he will be a big time bust. When he’s healthy he’s an elite defender who does everything except score well. That’s a perfect match with a team that starts Lavine and Lauri. He still has a much higher ceiling than any player who will still be there at 7 and Dunn is a career backup.

Personally I'm not a very big fan of his fit on this team, especially with another non-shooter in Carter penciled into the starting lineup. I think the PG who can't shoot but only facilitates is a player type that has a good chance of becoming completely obsolete in the next few years (nevermind the kind that has trouble finishing too). I understand being underwhelmed by what's likely to be available at 7, but I'd just as soon take a free agent like Beverley than give up the pick altogether.

On the Davis situation, I feel like the Bulls should be able to get a deal done with LA straight up. Getting involved in a 3 way trade just seems like a recipe for GarPax to take on more bad money, more unwanted players, and/or give up more future picks for no reason.

Why is everyone so certain that picking 7 sucks? Since 2010 these are the best players drafted in each draft.

2008- #4 Russell Westbrook
2009 #7- Steph Curry
2010- #10 - Paul George
2011- #15- Kawhi Leonard
2012- Anthony Davis #1 ( Lillard #6)
2013- Giannis #15
2014- Embiid #3
2015- k.A.T. #1
2016- Jamal Murray #7
2017- #5 Deaaron Fox, Jason Tatum #3
2018- Luka Doncik #3

Why do you consider WCJ a non shooter though?

I disagree on the obsolete stuff about the PG spot too. If he does everything else well and is surrounded by shooters that’s valuable imo. PG defense is becoming increasingly valuable imo if anything.

Maybe WCJ could get better at shooting as a pro but the early returns his rookie year weren't promising and it's pretty difficult to see him improving on it under Boylen. Sub-36% on all jumpshots and sub-20 from 3, plus the many occasions where he doesn't even look especially willing to pull the trigger if he's far from the basket. Pairing Ball with him just seems like a recipe for terrible spacing.

I disagree somewhat on PG defense as well. It's a nice luxury to have, but a team's starting point guard not being able to shoot or finish hurts a lot more than any defensive competence he brings may help. This isn't even getting into Ball's problems with getting through screens, which also limits his overall defensive value despite the praise he gets for that part of his game.

I just see Ball as a third straight point guard that GarPax liked in college and are going to go out of their way to get after an underwhelming start to his pro career and multiple glaring red flags. Let's hope if they do pull the trigger it works out better than Payne and Dunn did for them.

AD will be hurt 40% of the season and the Lakers will still miss the playoffs.

So excited about this! Lonzo throwing lobs to Zion, Lonzo no longer playing in the western time zone, Lonzo getting to touch the ball again instead of just watching Lebron! Sign me up!

Also this helps me out logistically. I was already planning on watching all of Zion's games along with Lonzo and Trae. Now I can consolidate two of those guys into one team.

Lakers overpaid and AD is already on the back 9 of his career.

Don't know about the back 9 bit, but Pelicans definitely got the better haul.

Plus Davis is gonna play out the season and not sign an extension with LA. So he'll be a Free Ajent next season.

Davis is only 26 but he has already accumulated 7 NBA seasons. And Big men don't age well. Plus he's an injury red flag. There are 2 maybe 3 prime seasons left of him.

Not sure about the Lonzo/Zion fit. Two non shooters. But it’s an interesting collection of talent

LA had to do it. You have two paths: win now or develop youth. If you do the youth path then there's no point in signing/keeping LBJ. So they are in win now mode. This is all about maximizing the ROI on LBJ. You get no return if he's playing with Lonzo and Ingram.

Agreed. Made sense for both teams. Would’ve been a lot harder to do if LA didn’t jump into the top 4.

No. Khawi doesn't want to play with LeBron. He goes to the Clippers or stays in Toronto.

This is sort of a joke. In any other sport, why would you trade with a team in your own conference? I mean there were no better deals for the Pelicans from Eastern Conf teams?

Celtics were unwilling to give up Tatum.

Griffin was backed into a corner by Anthony Davis. No team would give up anything of value since Davis already let it be known that he was going to sign with the Lakers.

This is a bad trade for both teams.

Eh, I like it for the Pelicans. Lot of options with that #4 pick. Good young players to go with Zion.

So they have #1 and #4 for this years draft? Damn that's pretty good.
