Sox had no business even being in that game, but they were. Rangers had 14 hits, LOB 8, had 2 runners thrown out at home. To be in this game until the last out is a great sign.

Why waste the time watching this shit. Alonzo costs them at least three runs in this game with his bat(or lack of it) and his glove. And Nova throwing up grapefruits. The two of them are on Hahn. Meanwhile Alonzo is picking his nose at first base and Nova is throwing waist high grapefruits to the hitter. It HURTS to watch this team when those loser are pitching and Alonzo has a Sox uniform on.

What are the odds Yonder gets DFA'd when Castillo is healthy, especially if Collins is hitting? I would hope the answer is "good", but I'm guessing with the brain trust in charge, Collins will be back in Charlotte by the end of July.

Looks like the road to having a solid team next year is pretty promising other than pitching.

Right now Roberts looks like a lock for center field next year and there is another kid, Sheets, who is in the pipeline for starting right fielder sometime later maybe in the year. He's a left handed hitting power guy who is also a good outfielder. So the outfield going forward might just be special.

IN the infield, they have two guys, who also are better than Sanchez right now. Mendrik in 3A is a very good hitter with power numbers for a 2nd baseman and is someone who also can play short or 3d or OF He also is a good base stealer. Then their number one pick from couple of years ago is tearing it up at Birmingham, hitting at .375.

A guy who I am very interested in, though, is this guy, Mercedes, a catcher who just was promoted to 3A. A little research on him shows that he is a guy who got signed early and has consistently risen and hit at every level. He had just hit something like .330 at Birmingham with good power numbers. He also has a gun for an arm. I expect him up next season also.

The weakness, of course, is pitching and I do not think that they have the talent anywhere necessary to fill a major league roster. Two of their best guys are coming off major surgery and while Cease looks promising, he is not a certainty from what I have seen.

This is going to have to be done via trade and free agency and that involves Reinny who is certainly the problem. Haven't looked at who might be available next year but they cannot go with the assembly of losers currently on that roster. They need AT LEAST two good to very good starting pitchers and two solid relievers, especially if the trade their legit closer, Colome, at the trading deadline

They should bring Palka up instead and release Castillo who can't hit and is a lousy catcher. Palka has figured things out and can play 1st base and right field.
