Interesting concept. It should be funnier but I think they use a lot of comics who don't necessarily buy into the what they are trying to do. It is probably difficult to write comedy from the perspective of a historical character. I think it is good to watch a single episode every once in a while for a laugh but more than one is monotonous.

They don't let Jeselnik anywhere near regular/non-streaming television or movies for some reason. For a minute he was on the standard trajectory of Comedy Central / TV / movies. But he's done nothing other than Netflix specials since CC pulled the Jeselnik Offensive. Same thing with the Tosh.0 dude. Funny as hell stand-up but outside the boundaries of acceptable in this hyper-PC/SJW/#metoo age. afaik, neither guy did anything off-stage to get blacklisted out of tv/movie gigs.

YouTube his roast of Emmit Smith back in the early 2000s. He basically picked on Shaq the whole time but he brought the house down. I'd bet 90% of what he said would be too toxic to say today.

i made it through john stamos of the first episode and turned it off. it was horrible.

i typically enjoy the regular roasts and i think jeff ross is usually funny but the people doing the characters are not.

jeselnik talks about it somewhere. he made a joke about the boston marathon bomber and CC made him take it down. he did that and they canceled him anyway and he feels he's basically blacklisted.

is this about the roasts from the 70s? Like Frank Sinatra, Ronald Reagan, etc..???? Those were great. But they're all free on youtube. Don't understand the concept here.
