Yeah. I don't ever remember anyone saying they wouldn't eat at a guy's restaurant because he voted for someone they didn't like until very recently.

shit has been happening for decades.

one easy example is my dad avoiding wal-mart and sam's club because they're super anti-union.

the only way you change people's minds is if you hit their wallet.

That's a little different. It's not personal in the same way. But whatever. If you don't want to root for your favorite baseball team because the owner supports the president, knock yourself out.

why shouldn't i? if i am concerned about what causes and policies my dollar is eventually being routed toward and supporting then it's certainly my business.

You can patronize whatever businesses you like. No problem. But that's a strange way to go through life. Not to mention a lot of time spent on research. Personally, I think buying the products I like is preferable to worrying about who the owner of the company votes for. I'd rather eat a delicious chicken sandwich prepared by Hitler than dine at Cici's Pizza even if Cici himself devoted all profits to feeding starving children.

Good chance the starving kids wouldn’t eat it .

i could easily say that way to live life is just as strange.

you're overanalyzing this. it's impossible to live life by only consuming and interacting with companies who align with your beliefs. but if you feel strongly about certain issues then the beauty is you can vote with your wallet.

It's really not. That's why Zorn is so phony and disingenuous.

I'm full of shit? Sounds like you value convenience over principle. It's easy not to watch the Cubs.

I certainly don't like how cozy the Children of the Corn have gotten with Donald Trump. But good luck finding an owner of a major-league team who doesn't love what the Republicans are doing. There is one, Peter Angelos, but guess what, everyone hates him too.

Agreed. I've been to one game via invitation and haven't watched any games on TV. Not boycotting them or changing my allegiance. Just don't really care to follow them closely the past few years.

Anyways you shifted the argument back to solely the Cubs. I am referring to being a consumer in general.

It's a shame that Mark Cuban didn't buy the Cubs because Cuban hates Donald Trump but that's mostly because there aren't room for two obnoxious billionaires turned reality stars turned world thought leaders.

I used to like Zorn, when he seemed to be more of a libertarian. He's a good writer, but has just gone way too far left. Today he's pushing for reparations.

Switching from a Cubs fan to a Sox fan is like going from gay to straight - it can't be done and it only means he was gay I mean a Sox fan from the get go.

With correct punctuation, and perhaps some wit, that would have been hilarious.

Cuban is a legit and objective guy. He calls it down the middle on trump.
