On May 9th, 2019, The Cubs organization was alerted to some questionable hand signals by Yu Darvish and we will be releasing him without pay. We attempted to call his cell phone but he did not answer and this was all we needed to make this determination. We will not consider any other discussion from him on this manner.

Signed,
Theo, Tom, and Jed

Can The Cubs find a way to ban Darvish from Wrigley?

I really don't know how this guy just fell off a cliff in terms of production. It isn't physical. What is it about a middle of the season start that gets him so verklempt?

He was in the weak AL his entire career. These AL pitchers can't hang in the NL.

Low bar as to what is funny, considering the joke doesn't even work since it mentions his career length. But White Sox fans must stick together through trying times.

Do Yu's 13 starts with the Dodgers not count? You said his ENTIRE career.

And if you really think these AL pitchers can't hang in the NL, why did you call the signing of the former Red Sox closer, "excellent"?

Way too much analysis and excuse making by media. He sucks. Horrible signing.

Even I knew the Dodgers were in the NL.

You mean the former Braves closer that has pitched 6 years in the NL versus 3 in the AL (and those 3 all in the AL's toughest division)?

If you were trying to nail me on the 'entire career' qualifier, than how did your angle on the Dodgers fit considering he pitched there 3 months?

Can you tell me what league the Dodgers are in?

I didn't try, I did nail you on Darvish's entire career.

Your OPS on baseball posts this year is about .360

The graveyards of MLB are filled with great “ stuff” guys whose heads couldn’t match their “ stuff” and were total bust outs or never lived up to their “ stuff” . Samardzjia most recent example. Just like Darvish. Give me a guy like Hendricks who can’t break a pain of glass with this fastball but knows how to pitch and compete every time he goes out there over trash like Darvish and his stuff .

I'm going to go ahead and refer to the '5.5 years out of 6 years' his entire career to that point and you're going to reconcile it however you feel you need to.

I chalk up W's when the other side starts trying to argue semantics. It's usually the correct call.

 I'm not reconciling anything. I am going to use your own words to make you look foolish. If you had simply said Darvish had spent "most" or "the majority of" or some other synonym, there would be no issue with that post.

I think this and the other signings is why old man ricketts closed the books for Theo this past offseason.

It has been a pretty remarkable turnaround for Yu. Still though, don't you get the feeling that during any inning he could fall off that cliff and give up 5 quick runs?

Well, of course. His past performance has burned the expectation of bad into our psyche.
