It is basically a 2nd and 3rd round pick since they swapped 7th rounders in different years.

I think he's been hurt a lot the last three years with Montreal. Checking h-r for his point shares, he was respectable last year with 5.5/92.8 for 7th on the team, but the two years before that he missed a lot of time and was down around 17th/19th for his contribution to bad Habs teams. I'm not brimming with confidence.

Kessel pretty much done for his cap hit. Points going down every year. Tocchet being his buddy and coach in aZ is why he’s there. He had to waive the no trade clause.

Incoming Sam Fels tirade about how this means the Blackhawks hate all gay people.

Happened on the day of the Pride Parade.

If he's healthy it will be a good trade. He had a very season last year at even strength. He's versatile and can play up and down the lineup. Just wonder what kind of contract he'd get if he were a UFA.

I liked Shaw....4-5 years ago. The trade made sense when it did.
He's now underpaid, so I guess it won't hurt. I don't hate the trade, but it doesn't feel like this tips the scale, either.

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Ryan Carpenter on a three-year contract that runs through the 2021-22 season ($1,000,000 AAV).
Carpenter, 28, has spent the last two seasons with the Vegas Golden Knights. He recorded five goals and set career highs in points (18) and assists (13) in a career-high 68 games last season while also winning a career-best 52.6 percent of his faceoffs. During the 2017-18 season, Carpenter scored a single-season high nine goals in 36 regular-season games with Vegas and helped the Knights to the Stanley Cup Final, tallying five assists in 17 playoff contests. He also skated in 16 games with San Jose earlier in the 2017-18 season, notching an assist.

Anyone considering the game in Prague this year? That is real tempting.

Considered and changed my mind before even bringing it up to the wife...it's 2 days before the Bears game in London, and I'm pretty sure trying to squeeze a second Chicago game in Europe is grounds for divorce...

Let's be fair...the only gay person the Hawks hate is Sam Fels.

Wow- No one saw this coming. I have been thinking that going into the season with Delia as the backup and with Crawford's recent history that they were gambling with goalie and that a veteran backup would be a smart move. This is way beyond what I imagined. Lehner was the 2nd-best UFA goalie.

Read where he turned down a 2 yr 10 mil deal to go back to the Islanders.

Weird. I read the team said no to 2 for 6 mil.

Unless for some reason Crawford has more issues.

Crawford has always needed a 1/1A situation to thrive but he needs it now more than ever. Feels like they expect Crawford to go down for the count at some point this season; you don't drop $5MM for the old Emery/Darling workload of ~28 games.
