I have a friend that likes rye whiskey old fashioneds. We do ours with bourbon so need help with the rye whiskeys. And if you have any tweeks to the old fashioneds you want to share I'd be happy!

I like to spice mine up with a splash of warm gin.

At a distillery I visited they made an old fashioned and swapped out the traditional bitters with a cinnamon one. It was different and pretty good but it was a bourbon old fashioned and not a rye. I really don’t mind Knob Creek’s rye for mixed drinks. Woodford reserve isn’t bad either and neither are terribly expensive.

I have heard good things about Bulleit Rye.

I have never tried it.

High Life as an IPA? I can't quite picture how that would taste, or how it would be any good.

Also Spaulding, try putting a Hershey Kiss in that old fashioned. The chocolate will bring out all the notes of the whiskey and bourbon to make an Exquisite cocktail.

A Brut IPA uses a champagne yeast or something so I think they wanted to collaborate with the champagne of beers. It in no way tastes like High Life but its probably good for marketing and tastes good and has a really cool label that incorporate the miller girl in the moon.

Rhum and ginger soda. And remembering my grandfathers, one who was at Normandy and the other who worked on the killing floor at the stockyards during the war until he could he could work more for himself.
