Agreed. I give him credit for the Arrieta/Strop deal and signing Rizzo and Lester. Baez and Contreras are Hendry, Bryant was a no-brainer from tanking, and most of the free agents are a disaster. And who they’ve kept vs let go is embarrassing.

Joe B+ He has had a pretty good year. It's extremely hard to evaluate him though because you never know the true intentions of his moves. Did he set the "series starters" because he wanted to ease the minds of the players or did he do it so the front office couldn't try to influence lineups? Did he really want Edwards in close games or was he using him to spite Theo and Jed for giving him crap to work with?

What would it take to snag Whit from the Royals and probably Hamilton along with him? The problem with this team is up the middle and at the top of the order. They could solve a ton of problems if the Royals want to play ball.

And CJ Edwards was one of the best relievers in baseball from May 6 (when he was called back up) until he got hurt on June 9. For the season, he should be rated at least a B- if not better.

yes. I was going to give him B- but rounded it to a C.

Anything less for an A- for Bryant is tough for me to understand.

In the NL, he ranks 5th in OPS, 8th in OBP, and 13th in WAR.

The defense, game in and game out at 3rd, doesn't seem to be a sharp as in years past, but he's not a liability by any means.

I graded everyone against the expectations I had for each of them entering the season.
