IMU was at the game last night, so I needn't say anymore.

The Sox fan brought some of that on himself with the 1996 haircut.
The guy in the Sox jersey right behind the camera got the worst of it with the beer toss. Cubs fan missed his mark by about 10 ft. He'd be perfect for the Cubs bullpen.

FWIW I quite like the choice to wear those particular Sox uniforms this weekend.

I don't understand why they haven't changed unis. It's a White Sox tradition to change and change often. Let's go already.

Agree with Tommy on the 1917s

The 1959 Home uni's are great too.

Them's good, too.

@Frank: Th e'59 unis are sweet, and every time I see them I think of a) Nellie's Fox's jaw stuffed with tobacco and b) AJ's walk-off homer against the Dodgers in 2005.

Love those '59 unis with the red in the logo.

The Sox announcers were talking about easy power and Jimenez. It is true. He really propels a ball a long way with a very easy swing. And his plate coverage is awesome. Clearly he will take an outside pitch and hit the shit out of it to center or right. But what is remarkable to me and I think makes him very special is his ability to pull his hands in and drive the inside pitch also. In the at bat he had when he hit his home-run, they tried to jam him inside and he just missed the foul poll in left. It truly is remarkable to watch.

It is crazy that this guy has 16 home runs despite missing a lot of time in the first half. He just might win the AL home run championship this year if he stays healthy.Amazing.

Yup.

Another start or two like these last couple and he will start the All Star game for the AL.

Be happy you have an all star...he isn't starting the game.

yeah that is a bad thought. He is not even in the top 15 right now.

He very well may win it at some point in the future, but this year ...no way

I thought that I read that Abreu was tied for the HR lead in the AL with 21. I'm not a stat guy and didn't check. All I know is that right now he is five HRs being Abreu and on the HR pace he is on, he might just wind up with 35-40 HRs this year.

You were talking about Eloy, not Abreu

I didn't know that Trout had 28 home runs. I don't really pay attention to stats on other players on other teams. Like I said, I thought that I heard that Abreu was tied for the lead. I was wrong. I will say that I think that Eloy has a decent chance to pass up Abreu in home runs this season.

After a little research, I found out that Jimenez is 12th in all of baseball in home runs per at bat (1 in every 13 ABs). Yelich is first with 1 HR in less than 10 at bats which is outstanding. Abreu hit a home run in every 16 or so at bats this season.

Other than the current design, I remember back in the day whenever the WSox changed to a new uniform, ESPECIALLY THE SOX Fans always complained and hated them!

The 83 uniforms were widely hated by Sox fans and baseball purists when they came out.

AND FOR THE YOUNGIN'S, do you know how the 83 Sox uniforms were chosen? That's right, they were 'voted on' hint hint nudge nudge by the fans thru the newspapers.
