This part of the southside between Ashland and Halsted, and Pershin' and 47th Street.

Seems to be some special place with big signs if you enter the area.

What is in there? Buncha factories and industrial businesses it seems. But is there a common product? Like, is this where livestock is slaughtered or some shit? Or do the businesses vary?

47th and Morgan there is a big-ass factory or some shit but there is no sign to be found to tell us what it is for. This kinda goes for most factories in Chicago. Why the lack of advertisement? Anywhere else you go in the USA, you pass by a factory and theres always a big sign that tells you what it is.

What is the history of this place? Seems kinda weird how its a hidden area, that NOONE ever mentions. I mean, shouldnt this be some place that people hype up as a place to find good jobs or some shit? Like engineers, lawyers, etc?

I dont get why its so on the down low. Is there something hiding here? Any mob related shit hidden here?

Most definitely. Maybe Shoreline could expand its sightseeing empire to recreate a slaughterhouse. VIP packages would include participation in the killing floor, guaranteed real blood splatters from butchered animals, and cholera.

I did attend the International Stock Show at the Amphitheater in 1971. I'm guessing it was probably the last one held there. I will never forget an animal I saw that day called a "Cattalo" that was a half-breed bison. It was like nothing I had ever seen before and its face is still seared in my memory.

there are some meat cutting operations but I don't think any are bringing in live animals. maybe goats for some kind of halal thing.

There is a pig operation at 38th and Normal. Lamb at 39th and union and a Cattle at 37th and one block west of Halsted do not know exact street
