I know it's ridiculous but Abreu and Mc Cann are already all stars. Anderson and Moncada are well within the conversation for consideration. I'll let each person judge Jimenez as he sees fit as I don't want to get ahead of myself with giddiness over what he may be. The others all require significant projecting. So 4-9 are all star level already.

No doubt that DJ LeMahieu and Gleyber Torres would make the Cubs a lot better. You know, two guys who just played in the All-Star game yet were traded by the great Theo Epstein.

Also, Daniel Vogelbach has now played in more All-Star Games than Babe Fucking Ruth has.

Meanwhile, Giolito has 5 more wins than Chatwood, Darvish, and Morrow combined. Thats $41.5 million well spent by the Cub this season!

So yeah, there should be "no doubt" about you clowns throwing stones in your glass house.

I'm hopeful on Dunning still as well as a few others who have joined the lengthy list of wounded. In the bullpen, I almost think they have to keep Colome for next year. He and Bummer form a nice 8-9. Covey has a role in long relief. I don't know about any other internal RP options.

They're going to seriously need to invest in a really good LH starting pitcher.

Cole Hammels makes a lot of sense for both sides. JR hates giving long term contracts to pitchers and Hammels won't be looking for one. Hammels seems to like stability in his employment location and this would keep in Chicago for an extended time.

Couldn't agree more on Colome. It would take a Moncada/Jimenez level prospect for me to want to part with him. I don't want to see them trade their guys for fourth outfielders and fifth starters at the end of the month.

Colome stays....don't fuck with a problem you don't have.
I'm also intrigued by Alex Wood, but I don't see that happening...he's an UFA. No way the Sox come with the strongest option...even with injury issues this year, someone will come in with a better offer.

Hamels or a vet as 1 yr deal is fine....othewise they'll have to find a way to trade for a sleeper LH starter...not so easy.

Back to your original point on the thread, though....that is a very nice looking lineup.

By the time the Sox are ready to compete for a championship, Colume will be washed up. Get what you can for him. The sooner the better.

I doubt that Vaughn will be ready next season. I'm rooting for Sheets to get promoted for the left handed power that he brings but he also may be a year away.

If they get a can't miss prospect for Colome, I would trade him. He will never have a better trade value than he has now but if they don't get a top level prospect, preferably a starting pitcher, then I'd be very happy with him as their closer for the next two years. The guy is simply MONEY as a closer.
