That was probably that walkman looking thing huh? I think for a while he made some of the effects more professionally in racks and etc. I don't remember many sustainers before him. I saw a video once where he could get the note to ring out forever basically until the next one was struck.

That's it, Mike. It looked like a big Walkman. But everything sounded like trebly, crunchy high-end. It was supposed to replace needing a bunch of pedals, i guess. And it had delay and stuff. No wonder Def Leppard liked it.

Hold on just a minute.....I'm all for ripping on Tom Sholz for being a douche, but the guitar tone and playing on the first Boston album is pretty fucking good. He wouldn't be the first highly talented asswipe in the music industry.

It wasn't a lot of money. It's not like he ever used my stuff for production. He bought a few small speakers from me and then never paid.
