I would avoid I-94 through Milwaukee if possible. It's unfortunate some Illinois people look down on them because of the Packers, but if they didn't have a team the people would have nothing to do from August through January. The irony on the Wisconsin v.s. Illinois debate is that Illinois politicians are running the state into the ground and because of that Wisconsin looks better by the day.

Mostly I would say the worst thing about Wisconsin is the winter weather. The cops there do like to write expensive speeding tickets too.

The Brewers stadium is better than either Chicago baseball stadium. Also no one outside of the Milwaukee area cares about the Brewers or the Bucks.

1. By a hair.
2. Winter weather sucks everywhere, but it's even worse when the roads have more holes than Edward James Olmos' face.
I never got a ticket when I lived in Kenosha, so I'll take your word for it on the speeding tickets. but it's a trade-off, because apparently you can get like 19 DUIs there before they actually do anything about it. (Disclaimer: I have never gotten a DUI, and I haven't been pulled over for anything since my 25th birthday, which was a long time ago)
3. No it's not, and yes they do.

Nah, the Brewers fanbase spreads pretty far, though there are obviously Twins fans to the north and Cubs/Sox fans to the south. The Bucks fanbase drops off outside the metropolitan area, or at least it did when the team sucked.

Not sure there is a perfect place to live but I've enjoyed Wisconsin for a good chunk of my life. People are friendly and as others have mentioned, the summers are hard to beat. It gets harder to get through the winters and springs each year but I keep managing to do it. I hope to move south in the next 12 years or so if things keep to plan but would love to figure a way to keep a place up here between Memorial Day and Thanksgiving. The Kenosha area has been a pretty good spot for us. I know it's not a favorite of some, the roads are horrible to be sure. It's a great location and they are really trying hard to modernize and build up the downtown. Seems like a festival down by the lake almost every weekend during the summer. The lake is its greatest feature. Lots of good food and they will be bringing in their 5th micro brewery in town in the near future. Definitely worse places to be.

While there are certainly Twins and Vikings fans, it is definitely a Brewers and Packers crowd in the bars in Adams and Juneau counties. All of the guys in the bars are watching the Brewers games.

I haven't been back up there in six years, but a look at Google Maps Street View shows that the intersection of 50 and Edwards now features a Qdoba, a Noodles & Company, a Coldstone Creamery, a second Starbucks location besides the one at Main and Broad, a GameStop (?!), a HomeGoods, and a Rosati's Pizza, none of which I ever could have imagined back when the city council was fighting tooth and nail to keep Home Depot out. It looks less like Lake Geneva and more like Lake in the Hills. It was always sort of a joke, but now they really have become the northernmost Chicago suburb.

The Brewers park is a better experience than the Chicago stadiums. The tickets are reasonable and it's not hard to get tickets. There is plenty of parking. There's not a bad seat in the park and it's a beautiful stadium. The stadium is the type of stadium the Cubs should have instead of Wrigley Field. Retractable roof is good too.

It was known as the Polish American Riviera down in these parts.

I have been to the majority of ML Stadiums. Miller Park is in my top three for sure. I always judge stadiums based on the full game day experience. The tail gating is incredible. The one thing it lacks is the atmosphere after the game. It would be my top pick if it had that, but tough to ample parking, tail gating, and be integrated into a neighborhood like Fenway or Wrigley.

Citi is still my favorite ball park design. Great in game experience at that place especially on the outfield concourse. Even better than Guaranteed Rate, which has a fun outfield concourse.

Citi was nice but it is only slightly better than Miller Park for neighborhood around the stadium from what I saw.

Citi is surrounded by chop shops. The area around it sucks.

But the in game, inside the stadium, experience is awesome. Plus New Yorkers were in awe that people would fly from Chicago to watch a baseball game. Amazing how many pf them have never been to Chicago.

We’ll be up almost every weekend now that baseball is done. You should make the trek up there. I got some bars that are perfect for us to tear apart. Plus I need someone to show me how to successfully fish that lake. And if you need a place to stay, we have lots of space.

Cool. Appreciate it. Quick tip on fishing there. I seem to recall the walleye not being as good as it once was. If you can find one of the schools of white bass you will run out of minnows before you run out of catches.

My dad keeps telling me to use minnows. On a side note, I saw two chicks do shots of tequila at Costa Ricky’s with live minnows in them. They actually have a little fish tank at that outdoor bar.

In any case, I have been using lures mostly but recently tried night crawlers.

I was told many times to use minnows and bottom bounce with a rig similar to a Carolina rig. The lake is actually a flowage with sort of a river running through the middle of it. You probably already knew that but you will figure it out.

There's a place on Lake of the Ozarks that does that (Big Dicks Halfway Inn). It's not as disgusting as you'd think. The liquor kills the minnow pretty much instantly and there's no taste either. :drunken:

The ladies seemed to enjoy it. I have a few pics of it in the shot glasses. I might try to post them later.

I also saw idiots playing the nail game...yeah I don’t have time to explain this dumb idea. And then there was the six folks doing a surfboard shot.

Amazing how a two and half drive takes you a place where lots of weird stuff happens regularly.

Not to come off as a peta creep but that's pretty damn inhumane to kill a fish like that.
