I would have pulled him too, he needs the confidence. Two nice starts in a row is something to build on.

If Darvish is decent, Jhey stays got, Morrow, Zobrist come back.. no reason this team can't take the NL.

yeah, it was good to leave him on a high note. it sucks that they have to use safety wheels with him but if it works, it works. i'm glad he's got a good streak going finally.

it's just unfortunate you still can't count on him to go more than 6. but that's a lot of pitchers these days.

I'll take that. You guys wanting him to go 8 or 9 at this stage are outta your goddamn minds.

Statement makes zero sense unless medical staff has him on a hard pitch count.

Heard Kap say KB is the fifth best player in Mlb this season. He's using WAR( useless)

It doesn't feel like KB is a Top 15 guy this year, let alone top 5.

Kris Bryant is as good as you can be without being a superstar. He is up there in a lot of offensive categories, but he is not Yelich, Bellinger, Trout... Once you get into Bryant, Rendon, Arenado, Betts, Bregman, Bogaerts, Bell, Springer, Chapman, Soto....they all are fairly interchangeable at the plate.

I've been with the very harsh critics of Darvish. These past 2 starts show there is something there that Theo / Jed saw. Not sure I'd trust him in a win or go home, but dominating though 6 full innings....that's gettin it done. Take it and love it. If the team doesn't have lock down 7, 8 9 inning pitchers....that's not on Darvish. I'd feel pretty good about Kimbrel in the 9th....Strop in the 8th....not so much.

That’s not at all what he said.

And WAR isn’t useless.

Two separate discussions though. He cited numerous stats, not just WAR, and observed Bryant is among the best and ahead of others in certain categories. When dumbass Eddie O pressed him and asked if he thought Bryant was in the top 10 Kap said “he’s right there.” Kap was then asked do you think he’s in the top 15? And Kap said yes definitely.

Listening is tough though so I understand your struggles.

Interchangeable is an odd word in this discussion. Sure, in any given year, it’s accurate to say those players could be swapped for one another, but what about over the course of a career?

I’m not disagreeing with you per se, it’s just part of a players value is the likelihood of them consistently putting up such “interchangeable” numbers.

Is bellinger having a 2015 Bryce Harper type of year, or the first great year in a list of great years?

I agree that Bryant isn’t Trout. No one is. In part because he’s excellent every single year. But I think It’s highly probable KB can sustain this level of production, based on his track record. Assuming health of course.
