The documentary was cool to see all the work that went into the series.

Was cool following the one guy who has been on the show since the start as a background guy. Also kinda neat seeing the stunt choreographer who played Night King. He got to be in on the action and then go back to choreographing the fights like CleganeBowl.

The actors get a pass so it wasn't too difficult for Jamie to show up and do his thing. In the back of his mind he knows the criticism is not directed toward him.

Rewatched the entire series again right after the last episode aired.

When Jon and Dany see the cave drawings of the White Walkers I'm reminded of Iron Maiden album covers with their "Eddie" skeleton mascot.

Harrington said he was "maybe not happy, but very satisfied". It is clear he was conflicted about Dany's ending.

Clarke clearly was upset that Dany was the bad guy at the end.

Everyone at Comic Con defended it.

Come on, man. It sucked. Ain't no one from the cast gonna criticize it except maybe Varys and other outspoken ones. Most everyone is gonna fall in line. It's like asking a mom to criticize her kids.

2013 CSFMB ROY

The problem is everyone was taking some out of context things the characters said as somehow indicating they thought the whole season was horrible. When pretty much all of them say "I understand some frustration along with some unhappy endings but overall we think it was actually pretty good" you can't say "Well, they are lying!".

Just think about how crazy people got. The guys who literally are the only reason the show ever got on television, and did an amazing job for somewhere between 1 episode and 8 seasons felt they couldn't even attend the final appearance for the show because it would have just been a non-stop boo fest from obsessed fans who didn't like the ending(that GRRM told them to do). There were no doubt issues with the final season but the reaction has been way over the top. Even the guy who played Varys, who did have some valid gripes about his character, seems to realize this.

Even if they were directed to end the show the way they did there is still the matter of execution. It seems most criticism is about the manner in which they reached the ending (fast forwarded to the detriment of plot development and inner show logic) as opposed to the ending itself. What's your larger point here again? Not asking snarkily but genuinely because I haven't been following the convo closely.
