Will be interesting to hear Joe's post game bs why Edwards was put in at crunch time.

He said he was putting in Edwards to get that hitter out and then he was going to pull him so he went out on a good note.

Almora is this generation's Henry Cotto. He will play 19 years in the league because good teams always can use a defensive 5th OF who can hit lefties.

That is an outstanding comparison. I was big on the "Almora needs to play more" but that ship has sailed.

didnt see the game. Did they just lay down satisfied they won the series or the Padres pitchers were too good?

Giants have won like 8/9 and we get them on the road now. If we won today i'd feel a whole lot better but with the road woes, I can see them dropping 2/3.

Feel like they put Edwards out there in that pressure situation to sell him for a trade. I just saw the recap of his outing and all he had to do was throw strikes.

I'm sure there are gm's out there thinking they can turn the guy around. And I'm sure Theo is selling him with the 'needs a new team to succeed argument.

Seems that there must be something other than on field performance with it comes to Happ. Something must have happened in the clubhouse or with another player / management for him to be still in AAA. If it's that, at least bring him up to showcase him for a trade.

Ah - there's your answer then. The way 312 has been talking about it I thought he was killing it there.

You could make a case for the following guys to be DFA'd

1. D.D
2.Edwards
3.Russell

All 3 are awful. You could also say Ryan, but he is their only lefty in the bullpen.

Lot of DFA's this weekend in the MLB. I wonder if some of these guys just need a new start.

The Cubs should absolutely pick up Derek Holland on a minor league deal.

Youre right. I gotta stop listening to Kap. He said Happ was crushing the ball last week and was " on fire"
