far be it from me to defend the Cubs but trading Soler got them a player who got them to the NLCS

The equation should be Schwarber+Davis+results > Soler

Trading Soler wasn't a bad move.

Not trading Schwarber as part of a deal to get Verlander was an absolutely terrible decision.

That was obvious even at the time. Theo fell in love with his prospects. When he realized that flaw, he gave away everyone.

Schwarber is getting moved, two years too late but he's going away. I guess he should have given the game ball to butch ricketts if he wanted a job 4 life.
