Rizzo isn't a FA until after 2021. No way the Cubs don't pick up the 14.5M club options. Stupid...

Zpack: KB is the 4th best player in tbe NL thus year.

Do these dumbfucks only watch the cubs and look at fangraphs to see who has the highest war?

Whether he’s the 4th best or the 8th or 11th is irrelevant from a practical point of view. At any given time he can produce at a top 5-10 level.

If a radio host cites WAR it doesn’t mean they aren’t paying attention, just that you allowed a pre-existing nerve to get triggered.

Pretty comical how excited people get over stuff like this.

I do believe the Cubs should trade KB at year’s end but I’d be very surprised if they did. I also think flipping Lester to a contender by the trade deadline this year would be in their best interest but that would shock me more than moving KB. Not a chance in hell that both happens.

Almora, Happ, Schwarber, Russell all could and should be moved. You can definitely get comparable pieces in exchange for Lester or Bryant.

The Cubs are in a tough spot. Virtual no mans land. Fringe playoff team with no hopes of being a contender.

I think a re-structured deal that extends him a few years beyond that option year is more likely.

Also a good chance for that, yes.

Lester can veto a trade, no? .. He's a 5-10 guy.

First basemen are a dime a dozen, I like Rizzo but he's very replaceable. I'd give it a go this year as is. In the offseason id move Lester( if he agrees) Quintana, KB and I'd move Schwarber n Russell ASAP( hopefully in the next 4 days)

These aholes will win today.

They actually will try to not get embarrassed with an impending sweep.

Next series expect the same : drop 2/3 on the road.

If that homer doesn’t show the ball is juiced, I don’t know what would. Schwarbs barely swung or even moved his feet. He’s strong, but that was sick!

Joe even loads up on relievers with matchups up 7 runs with an overused bullpen.

Wow that 1st base ump blew another one that wasn't really that close.
Fuck is this guys problem?
Had Joe not challenged it would have cost 4 runs so far. That's not insignificant

You look at the Brewer talent in relation to the Cub talent and it is ridiculous that these two teams have the same record over the last two years. I don't see how the Brewers are doing it even with herculean efforts from Yelich.
