I don't think that would really affect Moncada at all. HE was going to go 3rd base no matter who came over. Might have caused a problem with Anderson though. That being said, I am happy that they didn't bring Machado in. Too early and the wrong guy.

Rodon is like Kerry Wood, stuff is too good to keep watching him get hurt every year. If he's only throwing 65 innings a year he might stay healthy. The Cubs were 2 years late to come to that conclusion.

Rodon's stuff is no where near the stuff that Wood had. Wood's "stuff" was as good as it gets. Rodon has a different pitching make-up completely with much more emphasis on breaking pitches and changes. I think Rodon can make a solid recovery because his mechanics are very solid and sometimes, after the surgery that he had, the arm actually can be stronger.

I fully expect Rodon to break out in a few years...with another team. Sox will have put all the blood, sweat and tears into him. Then Boras will find him a contract elsewhere when he is fully healthy.

How on Earth can you say that when he has spent the better part of the last three seasons on the DL?

The greatest ability in sports is availability, and Rodon hasn't had that in years.

No question. But the funny thing about the surgery that he had is that the player can heal and be stronger than originally. It is way too early to dismiss Rodon as a bust. Particularly on a pitching starved team like the White Sox.

He always seems to tank his value around the trade deadline and then goes off in August/September.

Sox might as well just lose the rest of their games

Nate Jones to the IL. Might as well put him out to pasture.

I cannot believe that actually got something for him. Thanks, Rangers, for acquiring a corpse!

Quote:
The Texas Rangers announced that the club has acquired right-handed pitcher Nate Jones, international slot compensation, and cash considerations from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for Minor League right-handed pitchers Joe Jarneski and Ray Castro on Wednesday. Jones goes from Chicago's 60-day injured list to the Rangers’ 60-day injured list, where he is expected to stay for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old Jarneski has gone 2-0 with a 1.62 ERA (3 ER/16.2 IP) over 10 relief appearances with the Arizona League Rangers this season. He was selected by Texas in the 12th round of the 2017 June Draft out of Hilo High School in Hawaii.

Castro, 22, has spent the entire campaign with the Dominican Summer League Rangers, going 4-0 with a 2.02 ERA (8 ER/35.2 IP) over 9 games/7 starts.

I was just coming here to post that. Good for the Sox on getting something for him. Why in the world would the Rangers want him? Makes no sense.

He's got real good stuff, but hasn't been able to stay healthy the past two seasons. The Sox basically gave up some $ for two lottery tickets. Jones himself is a lottery ticket at this point, as who knows if he will ever pitch in the big leagues again.

Mechanics nightmare. Isn't Nate the guy they had to rearrange the nerves in his elbow?

I just saw that during the Cubs game on a game break. No excuse for that.

Vogelbach.

.234 with a .863 OPS.

25 HR and 64 RBI.

Another Schwarber basically. I dont know. I think they are better with Colome.

This game is goddamn crazy.

Abreu was just thrown out by a pitcher playing LF. After McCann got a hit off a position player pitching.

And now Fulmer nearly hit a triple.
