I also nominate Iron Eagle to this list, if only for the air scenes.

Unlike the US Navy in Top Gun, the USAF did not cooperate with the filming (this was one year prior to Top Gun so I'm sure USAF had regret after the fact). However, the producers wanted to film real aircraft so they found a willing partner in the Israeli Air Force.

They filmed the aerial scenes over the Negev with Israeli F-16s playing the role of US F-16s. The desert camo paint is a dead give away as only the IAF uses that scheme on their aircraft.

As for the enemy aircraft, Israeli Kfirs were used as stand-ins for the MiGs.

Watched it today. So many good lines.

Similar to Mask I would watch it only for the quality Sam Elliot cool guy character.

One of the bad movies I really love is Hudson Hawk. It makes me laugh at some of the absurdity in it and the characters were so hysterical even the little dog that Sara had.

we started watching movies from our childhood (80's) with our kids. the basic jist of this experiment is that all of these movies with few exceptions...ARE AWFUL....

the worst though was a movie i used to watch over and over and over again. The neverending story. I couldn't believe the turdpie i was watching. I'd built this up into an absolute masterpiece to my children.

meanwhile, dark crystal, willow and goonies all still hold true.

"neverending story" may not be a masterpiece but it's a lot more entertaining than "the dark crystal". "neverending story" is more of a story about accepting loss and dealing with grief than it is a fantasy story about weird creatures. the nothing is depression, consuming everything. imagination is the weapon that can destroy it. i didn't understand it that well when i was a kid but as i've grown up i appreciate it a lot more now.

I've seen BATTLESHIP like 4 times. It's up there with the Transformer movies.

I will edit/add more to this list as I think of more.

It's a fun watch. I saw it for the first time earlier this year. I'm surprised you haven't seen it yet since it airs on AMC between 10 and 50 times/month. It's worth a viewing just to see Terry Funk lumbering around on screen.

As far as Patrick Swayze vehicles go, I'm still a much bigger fan of Point Break. The movie displaces its opposition to monopoly capitalism into the realm of half-baked metaphysics, but it's still a highly entertaining B heist film.

I probably would have watched it by now but we've talked about it so much that I feel like it needs to be "an event" now.

It would be kind of funny if I got 3 minutes into it and remember "yeah, I watched this 30 years ago".

I know. Watching TV with my kids and they were going to watch it and I had to explain this ridiculous story about why I couldn’t just casually watch it on TNT.

Just flipped on the TV and Roadhouse was on. I saw some bad ‘90s hair and turned it off.

Didn’t want to ruin it. Because it is so amazing. Only saw 2 minutes.
