He had a couple outstanding seasons. Sad to see him go.

The $1 million they lost in international spending would have been on total longshots too. The White Sox signed around 30 of them in 2018.

Usually those longshots are 16-years old, though.

Ok, let's assume that they only get 25 next year instead of 30. Hopefully they are smart enough to pick the right 25 of them.

The bonus pool is for larger signings. You can sign as many as you want for $10K or whatever. The best prospects get the $1M bonuses. Basically, the Sox are saying they don’t care about that aspect of minor league development. But that is where the Cubs got Eloy and Gleyber. So, there is talent out there.
This is wrong too. They traded most of the money they had remaining for this year. The best prospects are already signed. The Sox could have signed a bunch of guys who are still unsigned over the next 10 or so months with that money but this was basically them giving up the money they hadn't spent yet.

When he came up originally he had four pitches that were as good as I have seen in a young pitcher. HE also had a terrible habit of showing the ball throughout his wind-up. I always thought that was the time that they worked on changing that habit and make him a starting pitcher. Instead they made him a reliever, eliminated two of his pitches, and let him continue to show that baseball. To me, this was a failure of the White Sox and their player development guys.

Agreed, and status quo for far too long for the Sox. That's one of the most frustrating parts of being a fan of this team. I hope the best for Jones, and maybe he'll find someone to fix his mechanics down the line (Matt Thornton syndrome).

So, they wasted their money and we’re going to lose it because they don’t really care about foreign players. Instead, they gave the money to another team, who according to you can’t use it because there is just shit left.

I stand corrected. Good work, Sox!

They signed like 30 already. They had money left because you aren't going to simply spend it just to spend it if the player doesn't command it.

The Rangers needed the money to sign one of the international free agents that had already agreed to a deal with them. They were over the money they had allotted.

Now, of course the White Sox could have reached the limit too but they seem to have already assembled a good haul of international free agents without using that extra money.

Well, you were wrong so yes you were corrected.
