The guy is weak. The first time Machado looks at him funny for giving up a run his confidence will be ruined.

Now if we could only get Theo to dump Strop, the bullpen will be much improved.

You let Strop figure out his issues. He’s been a warrior for his Cub career. He’s been the most consistent and effective reliever over the years

True, and maybe he is just out of gas at this point. Relievers are strange like that.

As a Sox fan, I am damn happy to see Castellanos out of the AL Central. Dude was a Sox killer for years.

The thing is, if Zobrist and Morrow could return and be at a reasonably good level of performance, they wouldn't need to make any deals. Zobrist could fill the need for a high OBP guy at the top of the order and play 2nd and Morrow could be the set up man. I just never want to see Edwards again this season.

Dude Zobrist is 38 and hasn't played for several months. I'm not so sure you just suit up and play at a high level. At least not without a spring training and live pitching.
Dude is done.
Fuckin broad roont his MIND man.

I think he will be going to AAA in a couple weeks to get his timing back and be back with the team September 1st and wind up being an important cog down the stretch and in the playoffs.

I guess we'll find out in a week or so.

I know many might doubt Zobrist's ability to come back and be effective after so much time off. Especially when he began the season poorly. But I believe Zobrist will be a key contributor down the stretch and in the post season.

Are you fucking his soon to be ex or where does this inside info come from?

From Andrew Berlin. He owns the class A affiliate in South Bend. He is also a minority owner of both the White Sox and the Cubs major league teams and when Reinsdorf dies, quite possibly the guy that purchases that team. He is a billionaire and former lawyer and big business owner who would likely have unanimous approval of the other franchise owners. He is also my customer and I happened to be working at his home in Glencoe and spoke with him about the Cubs the day prior to my post. Gave me great seats for yesterday's ballgame too. Right behind the dish, 5 rows back. If he purchases the Sox, hell I might even go to a couple games, so long as he moves them out of that shitty neighborhood.

It's no surprise then that Zobrist is starting his rehab at South Bend.

Agree, he's earned it. I'd rest him for 3 weeks and give him a AAA assignment.

Hey numbnuts, pay attention.

3 weeks = 21 days

That leaves 5 days for Strop to get in some work for the Iowa Cubs.

He currently owns no shares of the White Sox. MLB rules do not allow ownership in more than one team.

What relief pitcher do you think would be ready in 5 days after doing nothing but resting for 3 weeks? Explain that, you stupid choad.

Just stfu and admit you don't know wtf you're talking about, 3 weeks rest and 2 appearances in Iowa is perfect. Stick to rating hash browns and O.J. dipshit.

You can't shut a pitcher down completely for 3 weeks without giving him at least 3-4 weeks to get ramped back up. Give him a week off, which he has almost had and then get him ramped back up for a week and then a rehab assignment for a week and re-evaluate.

Zobrist is not going to jack around in South Bend and Iowa for a month. He put the bat on the ball tonight so I think he is going to be ready in a week or so. 4 weeks of this would be fucking ridiculous. Get him 20-25 at bats and 40 innings in the field and lets rock n roll.

Agreed, that seems excessive. I would imagine he would need 1-2 weeks max to get back, not a month. He should be back on the Cubs roster in the next 10 days or so. Hopefully, he's their primary 2B (or at least starting the game) for the rest of the season.

BS.. Strop just needs a break, if that isn't the case he's done. I'm leaning towards he's done, Wick looks capable, Chatwood too. We've got kimbrel and Sichek, phelps, Kintzler n Ryan.. Morrow will be back( he may suck or get hurt immediately) we don't need Strop.

You think Strop is less likely to comeback than Morrow?

You're discussing how long it would take Strop to ramp up but dismissing that with Morrow?

If Strop can get that 91 giddyup back he will be fine. I think he will not be able to though.
