North might resign I heard that, but if they keep him on in the mornings and control of 100% of the show, they are nuts. I dont care about what he makes, take what you can, while you can, but like I said, if they give in and continue this show as is, they are insane.

For sure and this proves that he has thin skin, is lazy and indeed, as Teddy said, gutless. Mike has no work ethic any longer, he has..he has...NO FIRE OR PASSION.

Isn't it interesting that resign and resign can mean two totally different things.

Isn't ironic? Don'tcha think? A little too ironic...

The bit of the show I heard today had North promising that the "myth" of his bad ratings would be shattered tomorrow. It sounded like he is planning to bring Rod Zimmerman on the air so he could use Zimmerman to dispel the "lies" Teddy G had disseminated.

Mike is like a 5 year old who brings home a bad report card, needs mommy and daddy to tell him they still love him and then parents put a postive spin on it so little Mikey feel better about himself.

I know Teddy is reading all of this and Teddy did post in the MJH section when he was on .

Teddy do us a favor and come on here and explain your side. I would like to hear your side about Jen calling your a liar about contacting her and how this has become what it has. Mike has crossed the line a bit with his threats on you but he's out of control and unraveling it sounds like .

Teddy, Im asking as a long time poster for you to give your side on this here board.

At the risk of being accused of being a member of the MNALS, I think it was pretty unprofessional of Teddy to not call North for comment before either of his recent articles. I also thought his article from friday came off in a Mariotti-like cheap-shot manner. No need to go in the gutter TG.

Does Feder, Kot, or Deregotis call the people they critique beforehand?

I didnt see the need to call north, I suppose TG knew the BS he would get from North, so he called those who actually control mikes future at the score. I still dont know why Pappy is upset with TG, because Pappy hasnt proved him wrong yet and if he could, he would have done it last week.

Kot & Deregotis? That's kind of apples & oranges. They are clearly writing opinion-pieces. TG was making statements of fact. As for Feder, I've always maintained that he is often unprofessional and petty...albeit entertaining. My point is that calling the primary subject of your story would be the professional thing to do & it would have made for a more credible story with minimal effort. Using a bunch of un-named sources for a story is no better than Boers siting his "peeps" as a source.

I don't see much of a difference. Teddy is stating opinions based upon what he thinks are facts. Until it happens it is all speculation. Kot and Derogotis state opinions based upon the "facts" their ears are telling them. "This album is moody, this album has big choruses, etc..."
TG could have written the same deal and said "I contacted Mike North and he disagrees with everything I wrote above."
What is the difference?

about 12 hours of radio programming...

Oh, and what happened to talking about sports on this great sports talk show? AMEN TO THAT. What the F? If he said North to f'n North.com once he said it 500 times. Total piece of shit...give me some God Damn sports news and quite making yourself the fucking story.

If Mike has Zimmerman on tomorrow, I suppose the interview could go something like this.

Mike - We have Rod Zimmermann here, tell them Rod, I am great, my ratings are great, I am the inventor of sports radio, tell them Rod, tell them now!!!

RZ- Uh.....Mike...Uh....

Mike - Ok, there ya go, thanks for coming in Rod. Emails on how evil Teddy Greenstein is next.

Zimmerman, if he makes an appearance, will be there to announce Mike's extension. It will be a pure corporate talk about the company continuing to invest in great assets in a market as important as Chicago is.

The difference is he wrote specifics with regard to a contract (such as dollars/dates/duration) without contacting the key individual in the negotiation. Journalism 101. If Teddy chooses to pen a column rating the shows (such as I love MJH more than life itself and think the MNMS is a bottom-feeder) then it would clearly be an opinion piece and the reader need only determine if the writer's critique has validity (the same as for Kot, Derogotis and Ebert for that matter).

alright, but nobody knows the specifics of the contract or contracts....that is why all of it is speculation until it actually happens. two weeks ago everyone was convinced North was gone. Now, can you say that?

If North had a new contract or very close to one, he would have been chirping about it all day. Lets see, Mike said he had 6 stations talking to him, but yet, havent heard a peep about it. North didnt want to talk about TG column and was only going to address it for 5 minutes, its now been 5 days? My point is that no one can take what North says seriously, because he is 99% hot air of nothing.

I said this when this started, will repeat it again. North isn't going anywhere. If the deal isn't in place by the time the one he's on right now is up, he will sit out in a Boers-like contract dispute a couple weeks to call other stations then will be back on a deal details of which are likely to remain undisclosed. Mike is too smart to walk away from money, big or small, and his bosses are dumb enough to grant him control over the content and delivery of his show.

I keep hearing everyone say this and while I am certainly bracing for the worst-case scenario (i.e. Mike back in ANY sort of capacity), are these execs REALLY that dumb? If the various posters on this board have a basic understanding of a ratings book and how badly Mike has gotten beaten, surely someone about to fork over hundreds of thousands of dollars does? The only thing I can logically (in my mind) compare this too is a baseball team signing a veteran pitcher for 6 or 7 million with a 5.00 ERA when you could probably bring up a minor leaguer for a tenth of the price and have a decent shot at not doing any worse. Like if they put drinky and Goff or whoever you want to pick on in place of Mike, are the ratings going to be that much worse? How much worse can they get? It's just really frustrating to constantly hear that refrain and be resolved to the fact that he'll be back, but why?

Kind of like the Ted Lilly FA signing?

Of course they are! He _does_ bring in ratings, you know. Enough to beat M&M, no, but... And he's been the face of the Score for years. And really, they don't want to admit they were/are clueless boobs.

So, yes, they are that dumb.

I'm not sure what you're getting at...seems like Lilly has been doing OK this year. Are you saying that was a good signing or a bad signing?

Kind of like a certain GM, of a certain team, from a certain midwestern town, trotting out a certain first round selection midget Gator QB, year after year, my friend. And to answer your question, my friend, really, they are that dumb.

it was supposed to be a joke, a FA signing for 6 mil for a guy around a 5 ERA??? Maybe he'd turn out good? Ah nevermind, I'm not funny today.

Yes he is. It is almost must listen radio to hear him near breaking down. Now he's threating TG, last week insulting his family. It's great. I'm just waiting for the next column by TG addressing the threats.

He's accusing TG of slander, this from a guy who has an HGH player of the day or week. North is a brainless, low class jerk.

Not sure if this is entertaining now or pathetic?

Just think the Score can put together a much better morning show that would INCLUDE Mike North, just not isolate him.

The score can put on a much better morning sports show without him.
