so you think the people in the car ahead of you traveling at a high rate of speed can hear you honking 20 feet behind him? And you call me the dipshit?
stick to law, shakes...and leave science to the scientists.
as long as the people in the car in front of you aren't cranking music and the vehicles are maintaining a consistent separation, you would hear the horn (with slightly less volume) the same as you would if both cars were stopped.
the only way you wouldn't hear the horn is if one car is traveling at the speed of sound and honks the horn while passing a stationary vehicle.
car horns and lawnmowers are about the same...100 decibels. are you telling me you can't hear a lawnmower while driving a car 20' away from one?
if so, then you are deaf my friend.
so as long as the car in front of you doesn't have the radio on. So in other words, no one in the car in front of you is going to hear you.
I've been driving a long time. I must be the best driver in the world cause I've never once heard a horn from a car behind me while driving on a highway.
I guess you people have never heard of flashing your lights???? Or am I the only person who knows to do that on the highway?
