As long as Caratini gets more starts, I'm fine with it.

This year's Ron Hassey. Hopefully he won't need to be on a playoff roster, but he is better than Taylor Davis.

It would be OK if he was on the playoff roster.

Seriously, this Taylor Davis love affair needs to end. The guy stared at a camera during spring training and minor league games. Itd be a lot funnier if he did it while having a respectable slash line.

That is pretty much how I look at it too. I kinda like the idea that he might get a key hit in an important game VS the Brewers and how much that might sting Crew fans.

So who should be their back-up catcher then ?

Taylor Davis.

Whats wrong with him? Plus it smacks of panic. Theres no need to panic. We have a good team.

Why do we always gotta go out and get every fuckin retread on the market?

Knock on wood, but Theo was due to make a couple good decisions.

Lucroy hit the ball pretty well and did a nice job blocking a few balls in the dirt. Looks like a solid addition to share time with Caratini. My concerns were the number of wild pitches he had allowed and passed balls he had with the Angels. But he looked pretty good last night. I hope that continues.

did good earlier this year.

Grand Slam and shit. Why wouldnt they give him a chance?

You bring in these retreads and its like telling people that theyre better than what we got here. You cant do that. You cant continue to destroy the confidence o' your players. You gotta make 'em believe that they can do it.

because taylor davis was drafted over 10 years ago, is about to turn 30, has only 20 games of experience in the MLB and cant hit major league pitching over an entire major league schedule.

I thought this year only players picked up b4 the proper July 31st deadline could make the playoff roster?

July 31st is the no restrictions trading deadline. After that day players must clear waivers first. So essentially ever player is put on waivers in the next thirty days. The teams can either give the player away to the team with the winning claim (Alex Rios), design a trade for that team that won, or trade to anyone if no one claims.

After sept 1 any player added can’t be added to the playoff roster.

There are no such things as waiver trades now. Teams cannot do the Alex Rios style deal. July 31st was the hard deadline.

The Cubs were able to get Lucroy because he was DFAed and released and they picked him up.

Players have to be on the roster before Sept 1 to be eligible for the playoff roster.

The love he’s getting from the small pocket of fans and media have nothing to do with his slash line. Certainly people gravitated to his personality and his story? What’s the problem.

Nearly everyone is able to separate his performance or lack thereof from his personality.

You’re the one conflating things.

Why does something “need to end”? Because you say so? Fuck outta here
