I hit a new high today but I thought- fuck it. I love plush running shoes.

I’ll hang up and listen.

I spend too much on dress shoes for work. But I've come to realize it is money well spent.

$110.00 for good (not top of the line) running shoes from Dick Pond's. $30.00-50.00 for regular day to day gym shoes. My wife gets a coupon a couple times a year from DSW. I'll usually buy 2 pair at a time, like twice a year. I wear them all day, so I burn through them.

100ish?

Beat them up with running mileage and then keep them to become yard/weekender shoes. Still fine for that purpose with a chewed up sole.

Usually get “minimalist” running shoes and even with much less materials they’re 100ish. Bullshit

Whistler would have posted, "What 's the most you ever paid to have sex with a pair of gym shoes?"

I did as first but Whistler uses "u" not "you" in the post titles. A couple hundred for my kid at Christmas. I am more of a lazy Sketchers $60-70 guy.

Probably $90. My current pair was $65 and I swear they're not even gonna make it three months.

For myself? About $120 years ago. Dress shoes? That's another story.

I don't go into triple digits for shoes. You can do the same for good dress shoes if you hunt out sales at certain times of the year.

runningwarehouse.com clearance section is where I go typically. You can often get last years top-of-the line running shoes for 40-50% off. I dont run well enough to be able to tell the difference between 2018 and 2019 running shoe technology but its a good way to get nice shoes for less. then when they wear out they become lawn-mowing shoes for another year or more.

the most i have ever paid is $140 for my first pair of Hoka Cliftons. That might be the last pair of full-price shoes I have ever purchased.

I think the most I've paid is about $115+tax. I've bought 90% New Balance for years for gym/walking shoes. These days, I've settled into a model that costs about $65 on Zappos, and buy a pair every 9 months alternating between a black pair and a white pair. The older pairs get relegaged to errands and travel.

When I was still playing basketball in the late 90s I think the top line Nike's were going for around $125. That doesn't include Jordans because I wouldn't buy those since they were built so poorly and would fall apart after just a few weeks of action.

Usually around $60 bucks a year for a new pair. Have been buying Adidas religiously for about the last 7 years...find I get the most support from them. Especially like the Cloudfoam sole...really comfortable.

Dress shoes are usually around $60-65 a year...alternate black and brown shoes...usually last 2 years, so I'm just buying a new pair off cycle.

Bowling shoes, about $200 every 10 years or so.

$85-90. Going to check out that website, mofo. Looks just like what I need.

I've been happy with Adidas for over 15 years. No issues and they fit me perfectly (same with golf shoes).

The Cloudfoam is pretty bad for a running shoe, but I really like it for everyday use.

Go back five more years and add $5 and we have the same story.

I doubt that I've paid more than $50 on a pair in two decades, except for my sons.

yep, nowadays I just get a pair of Nike cross trainer type shoes for every day wearing around. I think they're around $80 give or take.

In high school it was $110 i believe. Think that was the price on those old Reebok pump shoes.

Now i don't go over 60 bucks.

Probably, like ltg, it was pumps back in the 90’s although mine were for tennis. Had s good rubber toe cap that resisted my toe drag so they would survive the year, unlike the other shoes I tried. Started with an old pair on sale but didn’t get lucky senior year.

I stay in the previous year’s shoe to save some cash now but the work boots can still kill me. Tried thorogoods this year.. we shall see. Have spent stupid money on dress shoes as well but buy classic styles that last for years (hell, have a pair from 90’s still in good shape).

i paid 80 for a pair of salomon speedcross 4's. Gander was going out of business. I run trails on our property and use them for softball.

I bought 5 pairs of them and flipped them for 130 to softball guys.
