I voted no. I want a sports show to listen to in the morning that does not have a slob or a racist or a homosexual running things.
This town desperately deserves a local sports morning show.
North's show has degraded from sports talk to what ever that hell that was this morning. Sounded like a fucking high school cafeteria to me.
If he were to strictly talk sports, leave the bullshit mafia talk at home, maybe I would support him here but from what I've listened to lately, he can keep it.

I am also a NO vote. This has been 5 years for Mike to change up his show and he has refused to try things suggested by many.

The 'Morning crew' as he calls it is terrible. I am sure Jen Jen, Weber, and Rock are nice people, but they don't make up any personality I care about. I Guess Rock is the exception as his personality is expressed via sounds bites which he does do well.

But to hear the ramblings of a 25 year old girl on a Sports station is really terrible.

Fred. Nothing much there at all.

Weber, maybe one day, but he is a regular talking head.

I would lean to the 3rd alternative choice here, but why? He won't do it and he should lose his job for it.

He does not own the station, although he thinks he does.

As I have stated , Mike has lost his fastball but if Chet Coppeck can have a show I think Mike certainly should have a show.

His ego got him where he is and can ruin him as well. I don't wish him ill-will like many of you. I still think his glory days were with Jiggs and Mac and Boers success fed into Mike's success as well. It turns out Mac was the real talent to come out of that Score juggernaut in the early days. I still do enjoy Boers but Mac and North were my favorites in the early days.

It really would not be all that difficult to get him back on track. Just a little direction and he could be the second best talker in the city.

He wouldn't take any direction GD. Something tells me only a prolonged unemployment can get his ego in check.

I voted no. I think WSCR has other options for morning show hosts besides an insultingly stupid, glorified derelict like Mike North.

I've never thought much of Fred Huebner, Jen Jen is a pinhead, and I don't really know anything about Weber or Rock.

I voted no because his show is bad and I find him to be a complete ignoramus.

I may be in the minority, but I think Mike North is good for Chicago sports radio. Maybe not in the format he's in right now - but he's still better than the majority of stuff out there. Is he 'the best' still? Probably not - but he's certainly in the Top 5 if he allows his Program Director to get him to open his horizons a bit, and lose some stale radio bits - and move back to mid-days where he could dominate from noon to 2PM.

Here's the plan: Mike North and Jerry Riles, Anne Maxfield with traffic and Dan "Duke" Davis with sports updates.

Your show has fallen victim to your own failings it lacked direction and cogent thoughts. These were all correctable, but in my estimation you lost any credibiity with me and I assume most of your audience a short time after the switch to mornings.

Stagnant, recycled B.S. for the last three years, your done at the score. I wish you luck, but I don't think I can ever listen to you again.

Marconi is a good jar giardinera. The absolute best, however, is at the Pops by 103rd and Kedzie.

I went with 3, even with his petty attack towards Greenstein, I still think Pappy put in the right spot with the right co-host can do a good show.

I went "no". The solo midday show was somewhat entertaining, although you could tell it was a stretch for him. The afternoon show with Buffone was pretty bad. The morning show is the ultimate worse. That's several years of pissing in our face, during which time,

0. Breakup of other successful teamings to effect this solo run. Mac after an extended period managed to recover; Terry was more successful there. Jiggs never really recovered. And you can argue that status quo beforehand was better than status quo now.
1. Station has used excuse of Northy's contract not to spend monies elsewhere, like producer salaries (which I think is BS, but they tried to pull that tact.)
2. Tried to cut back on travel to venues (although why you need a remote at spring training is open to debate)
3. Dismissal of talent, with... um, talent, due to inability to deal with on-air
arguments/discussions (what is a sportstalk show, anyway?!?)
4. Reduction of support staff quality to minimum with the current morning show (I'm thinking of Annie, Jen, Fred rather than Rock, Weber)

The insults are long-lived, and ongoing. I see no reason to be forgetful.

Bigfan, in another post you asked if North was “Enternaning now or Pathetic?” The answer is that he has almost become so entertainingly pathetic that he will leave an indelibly boorish mark in Chicago radio history despite the outcome. His abject disintegration of professionalism is the very reason why he should not be back. Just when you think he can’t sink any lower, another day comes and he proves that he can. The snippet of radio I caught this morning (Tuesday) was a display of a man who is tossing aside any remaining shreds of dignity he has left to continue the equivalent of an on-air elementary grade chat room fight. The man ought to be ashamed of his’ self except he proves with each passing day he has no shame.

In turn, particularly with Mitch Rosen stepping to the microphone, WSCR is becoming tainted by this low grade soap opera. Mitch, you should only have gone on the air to announce that you were signing North and bringing an end to this crapfest, or else you just came on to play the part of another guest clown for North. Well, no new contract to date so we know what role by which you’ll be remembered.
