Even if you win the division with 87 wins.

Can't win 3 playoff series with this shit pen.

And I had a thread earlier in the year saying Joe is using them too much. That they would break down late in the year. I was called stupid.

I know they have guys hurt. But why is it assumed that those guys won't suck when they come back? They probably will.

If you were called stupid it wasn't because you said the pen was over used.

and predicting that an overused bullpen early in the year will probably suck by the end of it isn’t exactly Nostradamus level seersayin’ there , Tonto.

If they win one playoff series you should consider this season a success.

I disagree. Kintzler is solid. Kimbrel has looked outstanding in his last couple outings and is 11 of 13 in save opportunities now. Wick has been a revelation. They just need to stop using Chichek and Strop, who Maddon has basically ruined. Chatwood may turn out to be an important piece too. Just wish they had another lefty in addition to Ryan that was truly reliable.

They won't, but just watch, it will be the offense going to sleep again while the bullpen is solid.

Yeah, I believe the fatal flaw on this team is the offense. Look at last year, 2 combined runs in 22 innings against the Brewers/Rockies to end the season.

In 2017 only once in 10 playoff games did the Cubs score more than 3 runs. A combined .167 batting average over those 10 games. in 2015 the Mets overpowered the Cub hitters.

Even on this 5 game winning streak, in three of their wins they have pounded mediocre or young pitchers. They struggled against Musgrove and Samardzija in the other two wins.

I saw some stat on ESPN that the Dodgers had some crazy good numbers against high velocity (95+ MPH) pitchers, best in the major leagues. They did not show the Cub numbers but i bet they are in the bottom half.

Besides, I think I lost my pen.

I want to say the Red Sox were number 1 last year in that stat. Being able to hit against those guys is the key.
