Doesn’t matter what kind or how classy of a restaurant

Both are available

Which do you choose

I prefer a booth but I often eat with big guys who don't fit in them.

I guess that's a good point
If size was a consideration a table probably the better choice

If I wanted to eat at a table I could eat at home. However at home I eat on the couch anyways.

This; except bar and booth are 1a and 1b. No kids? The wife and I prefer the bar.

If it is 2 people I prefer a booth....if it is more than that I like a table. I hate having to move or ask others to move to get out of a booth.

I don't like those semi-circle booths. Or the 3/4th circle one in the corner because it is a little claustrophobic situation.

For the past few years, I was "that guy" that usually hated booths because my belly was too big. 3 months into my regimen, I'm safe probably 90% of the time. I still prefer tables for the time being.

Booth. More private, especially when with a significant other.

sitting alone in the booth with each arm draped on the seat back. You want something? You come to me. Don't sit unless I ask you to sit

The belly issue still comes in to play from time to time. I've found a lot of places have tables that move, which is helpful. Some places are just fine. Some places (Egg Harbor in Libertyville) are fucking evil because I've never seen anyone that is an average size sit comfortably in one of those.

This. I don't want to sit next to someone on a bench while I'm eating.

Table.

Booths are a bad set up usually for my lower back issues.

Booth all day.

Where do you have to move when at a booth? Going to the bathroom during dinner? Are you 7 years old?

Sitting at the bar seems like you are paying for the elegance of dining without either the service atmosphere. I guess you don't have to tip the bartender much so it can save money but you leave yourself open to eating your meal with Barney Gumble.

I've have yet to sit next to a Barney Gumble type in a bar. But, would much rather do that than sit near someones shitty kids....which I assume are all kids with the exception of like seven.

We tip 20% of the bill regardless of where we sit.
