She is not.

She's whipping up her followers to do it for her so she can deny calling for it.

No? It sure seems like she is.

Don't tell me she did all of that just to creep these guys.

The famous third option. She's a skilled manipulator for those who have some sort of guilt complexes or those who truly want to do the right thing, but are misguided as hell.

I wonder what her followers will do. I don't follow her closely, but most seem to be the "I appreciate you" type. But I guess she said that's not good enough for her any longer. Skilled....

I would add Bernstein in this too. A list of people at CBS we can contact about this would be good. DeCastro didn't want the on air personalities to attack callers. It's one of the reasons Bernstein was demoted. I imagine he feels the same way about doxxing and online harrassment of listeners.

Didn't Bernstein come right out on Twitter and say to get their names out there publicly?

Isn't this all over an '83' Facebook fan page? Is there anything on it, other than her picture, that anyone is objecting too?

As for boycotting, no thanks. You can boycott by not listening. I'm not interested in doing what Media Matters and others do. Yes, she's a bad person and so is Bernstein, but there's no law against being a douchebag.

Bernstein also demanded that a mob go after Score listeners. He shouldn't be let off the hook. Now families and little league teams have to worry about a mob personally and professionally attacking them. No one should have to deal with that.

Your silence is emboldening them and giving tacit approval to their bullying tactics. She planned on doing this with us last summer but she was shamed. We tagged Mitch and the Score in the chain too.

It's wrong that these hosts can go after listeners or social media followers. I'm still not clear on what this site actually did.

I would think the management at the station would have a policy against that and a set of clear rules for legal and/or escalation to police for threats.

You're welcome to include Score Management in your argument against her or Bernstein, but neither are worth it too me.

As opposed to filling your diaper that some private closed obscure group on Facebook has your photo as their banner picture ?

My understanding is the site just had a picture of her on the group page. The people posting there were posting anything that included the number 83. It all stems from Matt Abbatacola's frequent reference to the Comcast old guy who said "83" for a beer money answer. Because there was a picture of her, she claimed "its a group about me", which is apparently completely false. When members from the group responded that they never saw Julie mentioned and also never have seen her picture because the main group image doesn't appear on Facebook timelines, Julie's SJW followers turned their harassment to them as well:

Quote:
But you were cool with it being a picture intended to mock a random woman until took realized it was Julie? Then when you realized "a few months back" that it was Julie, you were still cool with it mocking her? Come on, dude, be better than that. Stop mocking women at all.

How long has this been a thing? Attacking your audience, students, or customers, I mean? Many enlightened teachers claim to do similar things (I'm not quite sure they really do, though; many are compassionate in the classroom, even as they refer to their students as racists or chauvinists, etc.). I understand wanting to challenge those you are trying to reach, but attacking them is obviously different. It's weird that people can't see the difference.

I understand that Julie and other such people might claim it is self-defense, and in some cases, it may be, but they throw out all the rules (legal, ethical). As JORR says, it's really just bullying. I know you all know all of this already, but I'm just shocked that her followers can't see what she's doing. I'm afraid to even look at what that twisted wreck of a rational mind Missyasaurus might be tweeting....Christ Almighty, that person needs some self-examination.

Does this happen once every other generation, or something? When informing on people becomes the good?

This whole thread is a perfect homage to Julie.

1. Boycott something over a minor incident
2. Talk about the boycott and share dumb ideas
3. End up not actually do anything

Any chance Olive Garden is a Julie sponsor. Hoping to double up on my boycotts. No idea why people are boycotting Olive Garden; but since I haven't eaten at an Olive Garden since undergrad...fuck Olive Garden with a basket of stale breadsticks.

Especially with politics and social justice causes, it's become pretty common for some of the louder mouths to attack their listening audiences if they don't share the same opinions. Mainly, I don't think many of these hosts can take criticism. Now, I know most of them would argue the criticism they get is way over the line, and there are probably examples of that, but I don't think they are comfortable with confrontation, even in a sensible argument.

Most people aren't. Most hosts are willing to "debate" only when they control the mic or the block function. That's why it's funny when Julie asks, "You think I'm afraid to confront the trolls?" Yeah, I do. Unless she can hang up on them or block them or sic 35,000 idiots on them whenever she wants. She's a bully just like Bill O'Reilly but with different politics.

Exactly. She’s more than welcome to come here and defend her ridiculousness but she can’t control the conversation and there won’t be 10 morons like Dave Miska supporting her bullshit so she stays away. With all of her contradictory positions she’s taken over the years you wouldn’t exactly have to be BRick to bodybag her here . Even Caller Bob could do it .

Virtually all of her career is based on the "More Than Mean" video. She is desperately chasing that trying to recapture it in a career that has clearly stagnated. I'm guessing she is hoping that Deadspin or another national site that likes publishing stories like this would be like "Chicago sports radio host, who happens to be a woman, is ridiculed by the entire city of Chicago in a private facebook group" and instead it was just Dave Miska being like "Damn, that sucks".

That’s a helluva career path . Would rather be a victim than make it on her merits . Even going the Chris Cuomo Fredo route is more honorable .

Pretty funny because before that video you could say that virtually all of her career was based on her made up rape story.

Rick is correct. She keeps trying to recreate the recognition she got from the More than Mean video. She tried it with the blog post about this message board, and it continued with her attempt to act like the private Facebook group was dedicated to bullying her.

Each time she tried to re-create her one-hit it's gained less and less impact. It's like Vanilla Ice putting out a hard rock version of Ice Ice Baby.

when you strip past all the bullshit, all you have is a person with limited talent. she is now a functional radio host... but she's no different than grote or any number of producer wannabe hosts... competent mechanically but intellectually uninspiring and mediocre.

Mediocre, late evening/night radio host in a basically unmeasured slot. Chasing something for sure and seemingly at the expense of a normal family life (by time at least). As for those that mentioned trying to recapture the more than mean glory I am not even sure there was much glory there then. Some trumped up award for something no one really even watched.

I always thought you could hear in her voice the need for approval and acceptance when she would be brought on B&B during the Kane stuff. Rape expert and lawyer Julie here with us now... Bernsie being one that really respects lawyers likely due to his father must have choked back disgust and laughter every time.

You know all at the score know the score so to speak.
