Back in the early 2000s the league I was in had to draft in early August because of people going away to college. I took Mike Vick with the first pick of the second round. The draft was still going on when he broke his leg in a preseason game that year.

I was in an IDP league and on the way home from the draft, one of my LBs was out for the year with ACL tear.

First year of the league I ran, a guy picking 10th out of 10 took Tampa Bay D/ST.

Spent a 2nd round pick on Prince Fielder in 2014 and got three home runs out of him, so that was nice.

I fondly remember Bigfan's auto draft one year in someone's fantasy hoops league. Might have been Keeping Score's league.

Last year in a league where everyone was getting drunk and stoned during the draft we did an auction draft. In the middle of the 2nd round someone selected Michael Thomas, the 5th WR on the Rams for auction and it worked lol. This guy Brendan who’s pretty bad anyway spent $36 of his $200 budget on him thinking it was the Saints guy

one guy in my longtime league took Rich Gannon with the first pick of the draft the year after he was good

That one still gets brought up each draft night

a guy in my keeper league took bell 1st overall last year.... but was smart enough to take connor with the last pick of the draft... so now he gets to keep connor for a 15th rounder

Three years ago took Adrian Peterson in the first. He scored between -1 and 5 points the first three weeks before graciously blowing his knee out. What a dick.

Not really bad on me, but bad on the other guys. 12 teams in the league, so a fair amount of players to take.

2012 took Miguel Cabrera #1 overall. It snaked back to me and I was able to get Mike Stanton and Steven Strasburg. I also grabbed Chris Sale very late in the draft (his first year as SP), Josh Willingham with my last pick, and grabbed Harper and Hosmer as soon as they were called up. Also like 2 weeks week into the season someone inexplicably dropped Buster Posey so I grabbed him and all he did was win the MVP. I think I had like a 20 game lead going into the playoffs, but Strasburg was shut down and my other pitching spit the bit that week and I lost the championship :(
