I think they became a dirty program, even under Bowden, but he built that from nothing. The they were remarkably consistent, and the rate at which they gained more exposure seemed abut the same as the rate at which they got dirty.

I don't think they ever got as dirty as Urban Meyer's programs or Miami. So I never thought they were beyond redemption. Free shoes, 5-10k here or there, it doesn't register with me. I've seen far worse second hand from beloved coaches from storied programs.

I was oddly interested in that game and watched it intently. They both couldn't follow the action, called the plays and penalties wrong on countless occasions. It should have been embarrassing for them.

Interesting exchange when somebody on the field screwed up and Leman commented jokingly “still better than you could do (paraphrasing)” - which is a typical booth jab about age but you could sense the immediate awkwardness that someone might think he was saying it because she’s a woman. He then added “or me too.”

Egg shells. She handled it very smoothly and moved on but you could tell they both noticed it.

Some good games this week, including LSU-Texas and Clemson-Texas A & M. Also, Nebraska-Colorado, Fresno State-Minnesota, WVU-Mizzou, and Miami-UNC. Some Pac-12 games, too, but who cares.

Jimbo vs. Dabo: I'd like to say that Texas A & M upsets Clemson this week (Texas A & M should have beaten them last year), but it's not gonna happen at Clemson. TAM has a good QB, but Trevor Lawrence, even though he didn't play well last week, is pretty damn good and has a couple big receivers to throw to.

Northern at Utah....that was close last year. BYU at Tennessee . . . what a strange mixture of fans that will be. Those BYU people, if you have ever seen them, are an odd bunch. Weird hair, a Ned Flanders vibe, seven kids (all with them at the game), and still-hot wives. Even the non-whites follow this pattern. We met the Sikahemas one year. All the chicks were hot. Why the hell am I writing this? I have allergies and a fever. Will be interesting to see what I said later.
