A misguided belief in him probably made it easy to move Tatis. It's just bad.

He’s been better than my expectations. I always thought he was a head case. Nice season. But his defense is subpar and doesn’t have enough power.

That was the CF ball but we are using a utility IF as our CF.

Are you serious? The Cubs probably have 3 better shortstops and the Sox have at least 2.

the old man is addled. He bounces between defense no longer being important at short to it being of critical importance

approximate .500 slugging is more than enough power at SS

Anderson is having a wonderful offensive season, but unless his defense drastically improves he needs to slug near 600 and hit 40+ bombs a year for him to be worth throwing out there at SS every day.

He surprised me with his offensive turnaround, maybe he will do the same with his defense.

Well, there's no reason a veteran should be having this bad a year defensively. I've defended his play from day one because of the ceiling he has out there. But that's it. I've had it. From next year on, it's big boy time. Tighten it up or ship him out.

Yeah, it was and a top centerfielder would have taken charge out there. But the fact is, Anderson called for the ball all the way, Garcia pulled up, and Anderson let the ball drop. That wasn't the only terrible play Anderson made last night. He didn't even get charged with an error on that one. And nobody thinks Leury Garcia is the centerpiece of the team.

Shortstop is the most important defensive position on the field. I'd rather have Nick Ahmed as my everyday shortstop than Anderson.

anyone who thinks that they will be competing next year with so many rookie experience level starting pitchers better look at Cease so far. There are many hopeful, even eye poppingly good days but they are exceeded by days like today. Same with new fielders. I'm not sure Madrigal and Robert come in and are better than Garcia and Sanchez today.

Robert would absolutely be better than Leury in CF. Leury is a SS by trade and he's done an adequate job in CF, but Robert would shred him on defense.

Offensively you are probably right on him. I would hope Madrigal could be better than Yolmer's .640 OPS even as a rookie.

I hope so to but his OPS is going to be low throughout his career.

We will be taking our lumps next year

Sox leaning on not bringing Robert up.

Sounds like a mistake.

No they won't. IF Reinny pays for two good starting pitchers, they will contend for at least a wild card next year. Their line-up will be excellent. I doubt if Madrigal is on the team next year. I think that Mendrick may beat out Sanchez for the job. He does everything well, hit, hit for power, steal bases, and play three infield positions.

Quote:
White Sox star Yoan Moncada has already changed positions once during his short career. After playing second base from 2017-18, he has lined up at third for the entirety of this season. While Moncada told Scott Merkin of MLB.com he expects to continue at the hot corner “for a very, very long time,” he’d be willing to move elsewhere if it helps the team. That’s unlikely to happen, per Merkin, though he notes the White Sox could do a 180 if they’re able to land, say, third baseman Anthony Rendon in free agency. In that case, Moncada could shift back to second or even the outfield – two areas that have been weak points for Chicago in 2019.

I really think that Anderson should move to center field. The problem would be if his ego would be okay with it. I think that with his speed and arm he'd be terrific in center field. I have watched Anderson for a couple of years now and he just isn't cut out for short-stop in my judgement. He has terrific range but poor fundamentals in the way he doesn't position his body ahead of time.

Why the hell are the Sox a 4:10 start, on a Sunday, in the east coast? This makes no sense. It's get away day.

Sox starters must have about a 26 ERA in the first inning this season.

When was the last time a White Sox pitcher hit anyone after their own guys got hit anyway? Renteria needs to be fired. He sucks and this nonsense that Rickey's guys don't quit sure as shit doesn't seem true to me. Anderson continues to makes shitty decisions on the bases. He continues to play Engel and Castillo who don't belong on a major league baseball team, and the pitchers refuse to pitch inside. Screw this never was manager. HE sucks. Getting swept by two teams like they have is not the mark of a team that never quits. Its bullshit to watch them play.

It's not the manager's fault you idiot. There is just no talent on this team. Get a clue!
