Just mayo? I thought you guys said it was the sauce that was hot not the actual chicken like their regular stuff or Wendy's.

The spicy chicken sandwich is spicy mayo. The regular sandwich has regular mayo.

Don't get me wrong, the simplicity of the mayo, buttery brioche and the simple chicken breaded is delicious, but it isn't some crazy unique Cane's Sauce or anything on it.

Whatever my wife ordered had a pinkish sauce. Mayo and Sriracha maybe? It was pretty good. The breading was a spicier version of KFC extra crispy. It was also a pretty fat split breast. I'd get it again.

I still don't see the fascination with Sriracha

It really is good on rice and noodle dishes. I don't think it goes well with everything.

My wife loves it. I don't get it. It's not particularly spicy.

"According to WTVC, Barr claims he was “hustled” after responding to an ad on Craigslist from someone claiming to know an employee who would stash sandwiches for those willing to pay extra, then up sell them for $24.

The man then says he paid someone for a confiscated sandwich, but the person never delivered .

Barr says he paid the person, but never got his sandwich. In addition, he says he ceased his car while trying to stake out the person who owed him the merchandise."

And this is Popeye's fault how? (And how do you "cease" your car?)

Moron.

Could the sandwich be ordered on Uber Eats or Grub Hub?

I had one here in Champaign just before they sold out. It was a chicken breast sandwich with a spicy sauce.

Nothing special.

Everyone going nuts over this is a moron who has fallen victim to marketing hype.
Folks. It's a fast food sandwich.
This is almost as stupid as people who go bananas over those crappy rib meat abominations at McDonald's.

A really tasty, filling fast food sandwich, for $4. Get two and a drink and you're just over $10. Not bad at all.

You might not know this...but fast food restaurants do a lot of business. They're somewhat popular.

You might not know this, but MANY other fast food restaurants offer a very similar product at a very similar value. Chicken sandwiches are more than somewhat popular.

Yeah, I think it is you that does not get the point.

There was a product that consumers could buy in the US. It existed and was available primarily from two sources, one of which did not even have a huge market share until the last decade or so. Now, a third source that has had a national foot print for decades has introduced a competing product that many believe is better but also costs less.

That would be a topic of interest, considering fast food is a $256B industry in the US.

I haven't had a chance to try it, but I'm guessing it's good but not the revelation that many are making it to to be. It reminds me of an article I read a while back about the Harry Potter phenomenon. The gist was that the original book was good, but not remarkably better than many other books of that genre. Yet for whatever reason, it became a viral hit.
