Schwarbs did a nice job of going middle away in the early at bats. No shock then he turns and rips a monster homer later on.

It is crazy some of these shifts. The Mariners had their 3B nearly on second base for several batters. The Cubs need to go the other way to make these teams pay for it.

They were pounding Rizzo inside to force him to pull. He hit that rocket right into the shift that the guy missed. He needs to find a way to inside out or back off the plate.

Absolutely beautiful night at Wrigley. But the Mariners are hardly a major league. I have saw three of the four games against them this year....

How was Bernie’s?

We got there at 6:00. It is always my pregame hangout. We just sit in the tent area. I love Bernies. I have barely sampled the new places on Clark. You hardly recognize Wrigleyville anymore.

I think I am going to the Friday game in a week and half. I can’t get enough baseball. I may even hit Milwaukee this weekend. Thinking of going from my lakehouse right to that Sunday afternoon game.

It is a treat to have competitive September baseball.
