Isn't the point of that joke to illustrate how utterly absurd the idea- subscribed to by most of the board, by the way- that only people with certain characteristics are "allowed" to use certain words?

You need to stop thinking critically.

There's more to critical thinking than just making bold, seemingly true on the surface statements. Do you actually think Dave, in practical terms, is on board 100% with JORR's illustration?

I doubt Dave has any idea or really cares about JORR’s illustration of anything.

What’s your fucking point?

I watched this show based on what I read here, and agree that it was funny and I enjoyed him tackling some of the taboo topics of the day, but was underwhelmed. Yes it was fun to hear him say stuff others don't want to say, but honestly i didn't think his routine was all that hysterical. It was OK but I never found myself considering it some kind of comedy classic.

Chappelle is bigger than Jesus so America is allowed to laugh. But only with discomfort.

I agree totally but didn't you think he pulled it out of the fire with The Frenchman? Thank God for The Frenchman. For 3/4 of it I'm wondering whether the guy had lost his fastball.

And now sjw types are falling over each other in hysterics. Three weeks ago if was misguided uproar (& free advertising) for a chicken sandwich, now it's over an amusing comedy show filled with ideas most of us have at least privately considered .

Frankly it's coming at a good time to show the impotence and uselessness of the dime store pundits. On both sides.

They don't realize that he walked away from a mint when he was their guy. The arrogance of them to think that he cares about them now that he's secured a bigger bag of cash on his terms. Amusing.

i thought it was really good. But I agree with what you are saying too. I follow the standup scene pretty heavily and hear a lot of comics go there so this isn't a eye opening performance for me. Just a real good one.

the difference is that I think chappelle's story is basically legendary. and he knows that the chappelle show would never fly today. Yet most of these people are like "the chappelle show was amazing but this standup is innappropriate!" you idiots this is what he did on his show.

the funnier thing is that people on the right are now using this as some kind of "score one for us" example. chappelle takes just as many jabs at trump as he does the left. reminds me of when the right tried to use "south park" as theirs, just because they made fun of guys like michael moore, failing to recognize that parker & stone make fun of everyone pretty much equally, including the people that wanted to use them for their own agenda.

for someone like him to give this kind of scathing, it's refreshing. he could have taken the easy way out and just made trump jokes the entire time. but he decided to mock what has been staring everyone in the face and the far left refuses to have a sense of humor about, which is itself.

Could it be possible that the modern Conservative doesn't have a stick up his ass the way the modern Liberal does?

yes, the Frenchman and the epilogue to me were the best parts that made it all worthwhile.

In most forms of entertainment, the right don't get many score one for us moments. I think the right fully acknowledge that both chappelle and southpark have often torched their side of the aisle but appreciate those entities ability to not turn a blind eye to the large demographic on the other side as hollywood is so apt to do.

I think they’re just ignoring it. It’s not exactly the same thing as having a sense of humor about yourself which clearly the left doesn’t have right now. But for every joke about white guys and Trump Chappelle makes a joke about Smollett and trans people and that’s what they’re focusing on.

There's plenty on both sides that don't have a stick up their ass. The problem is....having a stick up your ass is good for headlines.

Minus the overt racism, the far right and left behave the same way. They take everything serious unless it comes from them, they whine all of the time, they love being victims, if you don't agree with 100% of their crap, you are evil. There may not be 2 groups of people more annoying.

You can't even say that Robert E Lee was a bad guy and a traitor so I would say Conservatives aren't immune.
