My dog is psychotic so that doesn't work for us.

That sounds about right.

we just inconvenience our friends and family by bullying them into taking care of our dog while we are gone. works great.

If you don’t love your dog enough to take it everywhere you go, you should just have a cat. Lie that it’s your service animal, everybody else does.

The place near the airport is like $70 a night minimum. It's convenient and they have good reviews. I'm not married to it though. That's why I was trying to get a feel for others experience and places they may have used.

Chicago Ridge, pawsitively. Heaven, place is massive and super clean. Gotta be 40 workers there constantly playing with the dogs. No bad habits picked up by incessantly barking by dogs left alone.

As well he should, there are scared white tourists everywhere you go these days.

We use Camp Bow Wow in Elmhurst. Like others have said, make sure all shots up to date. The dogs are sorted by size and left together during the day, which is great if your dog likes other dogs, if not.....

Play rooms have webcams too, so you can "check-in" if you want (I don't, but my kids all have the app on their phones). Think it's about $50/day, but you can save a little if you buy 10 day pass (don't have to use all at once). I think for first time users, they require a "trial" day to make sure your dog isn't a pyscho, so you would need to schedule that before the trip.

Affluent doesn't always mean white. Besides if the people standing near the bean frighten you then you should probably never leave the house.

This place is closer to me. I'm going to check it out.

It's the only place I'd use, it's unbelievably clean and it's huge. It used to be a handy andy i believe.. Been open a decade. I know the owner, nicest lady you'll ever meet.

They’ll be exhausted when you pick them up since they play all day everyday

Playing with other dogs or just playing in general? Any bad habits picked up?

They will play with other dogs that are also being boarded and dogs that are dropped off for daycare. A good daycare will have the dogs separated into different rooms to play by their size and temperament. MANY daycares/boarding homes will require a behavioral exam before accepting new applicants. I would check on that before showing up with the pup. Of course, as MANY mentioned, they will need to be up to date on shots AND some require giaradia (poop) tests performed within past 6 months.

When I worked in the northern burbs I used Bow Wow Lounge in Deerfied on Lake Cook and Waukegan. I couldn’t recommend that place enough. They have 3 play areas (small, medium, large) and a large outdoor play area (suburbs FTW!). They have online webcams to check up on your dog but it’s pointless. The staff there is great and your dog will have a great time playing. My dog didn’t pick up any bad habits at Bow Wow and loved it there. However, she did get expelled from a city daycare for aggressive behavior. After seeing her have zero issues with dogs at dog parks, walks and the dog beach I’m 99% the city day care wasn’t right for her. It’s the city so the rooms are smaller and packed with more dogs. Mine doesn’t really respond well in that environment.

Bring your own food tool. Otherwise they'll probably have the shits when you get back from the different diet.

This is true. While you know you are already paying so much and might want the free food, it really isn't worth it because they typically don't react very well with it. Many places offer a bath the day before pickup which is always a good idea. They will be very tired when they get home because there is just constant activity there. The barking is non-stop, even at night. Some places offer add ons like $5 a day for a 20 minute one-on-one play session with a person... I usually get that for longer times because I feel kind of guilty... I'm the sap that falls for those things probably.

I smell discrimination.

Hello,

We received your application to board Rocky with us from October 2, 2019 through October 9, 2019 in a medium patio suite. Unfortunately right now we are currently booked in all our suites for that stay. We did add you to our wait list, its not guaranteed but if something doe open we will give you a call. Just a reminder that we would need current vaccines from your vet for Rocky. We require a current rabies, distemper and a negative fecal from the past 6 months. If you have any questions please give us a call at anytime. Have a great day!

Warm regards, Jessica

That's too bad, save some dough and have a relative watch him for a week.
