NBC streaming service coming in 2020.

Gonna have reboots of Battlestar Galactica, Punky Brewster, and Saved By The Bell where Zack Morris is Governor of California.

I wish this was a made up story.

What if I told you, you could bundle ALL of your streaming services in one place? I'll throw in phone and internet too. Only $200 per month!

That's basically what it's coming to.

It is almost as if content providers all want to be paid the same as they were before the magic of cord cutting.

When I first heard of it I thought it was stupid. Then I found out that Saved By The Bell was coming back and I already sent Comcast a check for $150.

It's not really Zack Morris if it's not Mark Paul Gosselaar and he has not been approached.

They have to wait for his show to be cancelled.

They should. There is no way Saved By the Bell can be done without him.

Oh I imagine he'll be involved, if only for the premiere.

The premise sounds goofy.

"When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality."

Why would they reboot Battlestar? The last reboot from Ron Moore was great. It's not that old.

I thought the same thing.

It's weird, but it's also NBC. Who knows why they do things.

And there better be a new ALF.

If they can do that de-aging thing with Erin Gray, I'd be in favor.

I'd have a better understanding of my feelings than I did back then.

Could be cool if it had a cameo from Spock to tie it in. Doesn't Spock live forever?

Ron Moore's podcasts on his Battlestar shows, glass of whiskey in hand, just watching the show and talking about what did and didn't work was one of the really early 'casts that hooked me on podcasts. They were fantastic and a really honest, interesting view of how these types of productions are made.

Also, he had a lot of construction going on outside his house.

Highly recommend those podcasts if you do a re/watch of Battlestar.

Maybe I have to do a watch of Battlestar. I got like 4-5 episodes in a few years back and gave up. Seemed plodding iirc

I really enjoyed it. It builds and is a pretty intricate plot. Even my wife enjoyed it and she's not a Sci-Fi type usually.

I wasn't thrilled with the ending (others were) but, at the time, it was really different and I would bet it still holds up pretty well.

Moore's podcasts as a companion really improved the experience for me.

I generally am too impatient to deal with podcasts between episodes while watching or rewatching a show but I always read reviews for each episode in between. I miss a ton of shit regularly. Maybe it’s because I’m stoned a lot of the time.

If you have any interest in "the making of..." in terms of TV/Movie production, it's really very good.

Maybe I'm a little biased because I used to do a bit of that but I still think it is interesting.

It's essentially a DVD commentary on every single episode.

I get that and understand the appeal. I’m just too impatient when binge watching a show I enjoy to pause and listen to a podcast in between episodes.

But, not everybody is like me.

I'm sad that you are. Makes me feel bad....about myself.

I watched it when Netflix first started its streaming service. Got all the way to the last season and didn't start it.

If it makes you feel any better I probably consume a lot more illegal drugs and have a vastly inferior bank account. But for real, you should try the drugs. Kind equalizes our situation imho

Won't lie, I hung out with Chus enough to consider what it might be like to dabble - just to see what it is like.

Maybe 2020 we will reboot the podcast with "What are We Smokin'?"

Becomes legal and moral next year. Might as well. Let’s do that long forgotten Wire Rewatch podcast higher than than a kite.

Where’s Wallace at? String? Where the fuck is Wallace?

George Wallace was a son of a b-itch. Weird that there was a black comedian named George Wallace that was good. Weird...I mean really think about that...do we have Doritos....
